Berserk 1997 Anime Gets Steelbook Blu-Ray Release, But It Will Only Be Printed Once

As a seasoned gamer with over two decades of experience under my belt, I must say that Berserk has always been a staple in my anime collection. The dark fantasy genre is not for the faint-hearted, but it’s precisely this brutal and unforgiving world that keeps me coming back for more.

The 1997 TV series adaptation of the acclaimed manga “Berserk” had already been one of the most significant Blu-ray releases in anime this year. However, it’s about to get even more exciting as a special limited-edition steelbook release is on its way, exclusive to Crunchyroll. The steelbook edition of “Berserk” is set for release on November 30, and preorders are now available at $60 (originally $80), though you may be able to lower the price to $51 using the promo code WELCOME15.

Only one printing of this item will be released via Crunchyroll, and when it sells out, it won’t be available again.

If the Berserk Blu-ray you’re considering buys out, know that Amazon still has regular Berserk Blu-rays in stock. Although it doesn’t come with a steelbook cover, it does feature dynamic box art, and it’s less expensive since its Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price is only $50. On the other hand, you might want to consider the Berserk: The Golden Age Arc Memorial Edition Blu-ray at $54 (originally priced at $70). This version offers a more accurate adaptation of the original manga, but it received mixed reviews from fans due to its combination of CG-animated sequences and traditional 2D animation. Released as a trilogy of films in 2012-2013, this edition has been restructured into 13 episodes. Notably, both English and Japanese dubbing options are available on this Blu-ray release.
