25 players from Electronic Arts’ Football Club have been vocalizing dissatisfaction regarding Division Rivals since its debut, claiming that to secure top-tier rewards, they are obliged to play an excessive number of matches each week. However, with the commencement of Season 2, developers have heeded their concerns and made necessary adjustments.
As a gamer this year, I’ve found that the developers have significantly shaken up the core Ultimate Team gameplay. The Squad Battles have become even more lucrative than before, offering greater rewards than ever. On the flip side, qualifying for UT Champions has become a real challenge, but if you make it, the pack and coin prizes are well worth the effort.
As Season 2 begins, developers have reduced the required points for top rewards from 45 to 35. This implies that you now only need to amass 12 victories or 10 wins combined with six draws to claim the highest valued prizes on a Thursday. The basic rewards remain the same and are still awarded at the 15-point threshold.
In FIFA 25, the Division Rivals feature underwent a significant revamp. Instead of various reward choices, it now offers standard and enhanced rewards, which combine cash, tradable, and non-tradable card packs.
Generally, there was widespread consensus that the incentives in this competition were more appealing compared to EA FC 24. However, it’s important to note that achieving these rewards would require playing a greater number of matches each week. Specifically, to earn the top prizes, you would need to accumulate a total of 45 points (which is equivalent to 15 wins), a significant increase from the seven wins required last year.
Playing this way led to several issues because it required players to dedicate themselves to at least ten matches per week, though in reality, around twenty games might be necessary due to potential losses in the upper leagues.
For those players with limited weekly hours, this change will be a significant respite. Previously, the format required a considerable investment of time, particularly when managing both Squad Battles and the Weekend League simultaneously.
In other words, the prizes remain unchanged, meaning you won’t receive fewer valuable packs even if your point total is reduced.
With everything set up this way, you’ll find yourself with an equal number of coins and player cards for Squad Battles Challenges (SBCs), and the ability to upgrade your team without needing to spend long hours farming resources.
