TL;DR:
- The crypto world is like that one uncle at Thanksgiving who predicts the apocalypse every year-it’s full of bold claims, most of which are about as reliable as a chocolate teapot.
- A Twitter (excuse me, “X”) user with an audience bigger than a small city has started buzzing about Apple buying up XRP faster than you can say “blockchain.” Spoiler alert: Cobb, an XRP enthusiast, called this rumor what it is-a ghost story without the campfire.
“Are the ‘rumors’ haunting us now?” 👻
– Cobb (@Cobb_XRPL) September 9, 2025
Now, I’m not saying rumors are useless, but they’re about as trustworthy as a cat promising not to knock over your glass of water. This particular whopper comes from an account with more followers than some minor celebrities, so naturally, we gave it half a glance before rolling our eyes back into place.
Let’s get real for a moment. Apple and cryptocurrency? That pairing is about as likely as me deciding to give up sarcasm-it could happen, but don’t hold your breath. For years, Apple treated crypto like it was last week’s leftovers, banning in-app purchases involving digital assets quicker than you can spell “Ripple.” Sure, they lifted those bans earlier this year, but lifting restrictions isn’t exactly the same as diving headfirst into the crypto pool wearing a golden swimsuit labeled “XRP.”
And let’s suppose, just for kicks, that Apple decided to toss caution to the wind and join the crypto craze. Why on Earth would they pick XRP? Bitcoin is the trillion-dollar elephant in the room, stomping around and flexing its market cap muscles. Even Ethereum gets invited to the cool kids’ table these days! Governments, companies, and even Uncle Sam himself seem to be warming up to BTC. So why would Apple suddenly develop a soft spot for Ripple?
In conclusion, dear reader, these XRP rumors are about as solid as a sandcastle during high tide. If Apple announces a $1.5 billion crypto purchase today, I’ll eat my hat-and trust me, it’s a very nice hat. 🎩 Until then, take these whispers with a grain of salt… or maybe the whole shaker. 😉
