As a long-time follower of the streaming world, I find myself deeply saddened by the ongoing saga of Destiny and Twitch. Having witnessed numerous streamers navigate the complexities of platform policies, I can’t help but feel a sense of injustice in this case.
During his initial broadcast after a two-week hiatus, Asmongold expressed his views regarding a video that seemingly triggered Destiny’s permanent ban on Twitch.
Previously, a user who had been streaming on Twitch was permanently barred from the service back in March of this year. Not long after the announcement, he himself acknowledged that the ban was indeed permanent.
During that period, Destiny disclosed that an infraction took place on his live stream, and he was provided with three potential explanations as to why he was banned by Twitch.
“They said that a violation occurred on stream, and then the three possible [reasons] they gave were: posting a combination of words and emotes in chat to promote denigration based on race, praising or supporting a hate crime,” he said. “And then the third one, this would blow my mind if it’s the third one, ‘advocating for the exclusion of a group of people based on their disability.’ There’s no way, right?”
It wasn’t clear why the suspension occurred until October 28th, when the streamer shared a video on Twitter/X, revealing that this was the cause of his being suspended.
So this is the clip that I was perma banned from Twitch for lol
I should’ve been talking about Jews instead I guess smh

On the following day, after serving a two-week suspension on Twitch, Asmongold watched a video clip shared by Destiny and responded to it.
As a gamer, I’ve found myself in a tricky spot. I’ve let slip words far more severe than what’s under scrutiny now. Frankly, it feels absurd. My past antics have been no picnic, but this time I’m jokingly suggesting I might be facing the banhammer again.
“Somebody didn’t like him. That’s it.”
After receiving a permanent ban in 2022, Destiny has made several attempts by appealing multiple times in order to regain control of his channel.
2023, right after Twitch unveiled a fresh method for streamers to reclaim their suspended accounts, I found myself on the receiving end of an unusually swift denial during that same month – November. My appeal to get Destiny’s account back was turned down in what seemed like record time.
“It only took an hour to ship me the rejection email,” he said at the time.
After Destiny’s account ban appeal was unsuccessful, it led to the unbanning of other permanently banned content creators such as JiDion and IShowSpeed.
