How to purchase stock

You can purchase stock via two phone apps: Table Top and Stock Order. Table Top is a stockist only for tabletop games, while Stock Order allows you to buy a wider variety of goods (Booster Packs, Accessories, and Figurines).

To acquire the right to buy stock in certain amounts, you must make a one-time purchase for a license. For larger quantities of stock, there are separate licenses available, but it’s not advisable to buy these early in the game when your store has limited space. They become valuable later on, once your store has grown significantly, because they save time by eliminating the need to manage and unpack numerous orders.

At the start of the game, you have the option to buy stocks whenever necessary. As time goes by, continually purchasing stock during workdays may prove tedious. To simplify this process, keep an extra supply of stocks on your Warehouse Shelves. This way, your workers (or yourself) can quickly replenish customer-facing shelves directly from the Warehouse Shelves.

How to set prices

Following the placement of an item on the shelves, make sure to assign its price promptly, particularly during a sale day, as setting the price late could result in selling the item at below market value, causing financial loss.

Click the “Market Price” button to find the optimal selling cost for your item. You’re free to adjust this price by 10% either up or down. Remember that the market value of each item fluctuates daily, so it’s advisable to check every few in-game days to avoid overpricing or underpricing your goods. Your customers might become unhappy if your prices are excessively high. It’s your choice to set the pricing, but a popular tactic is to sell frequently bought items in large quantities (like booster packs) at market price, while charging a slight premium for unique or novelty items.

To view an item’s price history, simply click on the bar graph located on the upper right corner of the user interface. Keep in mind that buying large quantities of stock beforehand may lead to potential losses when selling at market price, particularly if the item’s value decreases gradually over time.

How to throw boxes away

Leaving empty boxes in your store can create a mess. Instead, grab them and carry them out to the nearby bin for disposal. To discard the boxes you’re holding, simply click on the trash can rather than using the Q key, as that will only place the boxes on top of the bin instead of inside it.

Another option is to buy trash bins directly through the MY DIY smartphone app, which will allow you to place more garbage cans in a more convenient location within your store.

How to open packs and collect cards

TCG Card Shop Simulator Guide – Controls, Prices, Events

An essential aspect of running a TCG store involves dealing with valuable, scarcely found cards. Here’s how you can grab packs straight off the shelves:

  1. Use the left mouse button to pick up to eight card packs (hold the button to collect quickly).
  2. Press the R key to open a pack.
  3. Hold the left mouse button to peel the pack open.
  4. Click on the left mouse button to see the cards you got in each pack. You can hold the button to speed up the animation.

As a gamer, here’s my take: Each time I open a pack in this game, it’ll give me the value of every card inside and the overall pack value. However, just a heads up, card values fluctuate daily. I can decide to hold onto these cards for my collection or list them on the Card Table for potential sale.

How to check reviews

As a gamer, I’d say: “Pop open my in-game smartphone and navigate to Feedback, where all the player reviews are stored over time. Scrolling through these often gives me insights on what areas need improvement in my virtual shop. Common issues raised include unpleasant odors, expensive pricing, and slow service. I make it a point to tackle these problems promptly to minimize losing more customers down the line.

How to get rid of bad smells

You can easily identify smelly customers from the green odor indicator that follows them around. If you don’t manage your shop’s odor situation, other customers will be dissatisfied and leave a bad review. Combat bad odor by purchasing the Auto Scent M100 from the MY DIY app on the phone. After placing it in the store, load it up with two Cleansers by picking them up from the shelf and clicking on the machine. These act as air fresheners that eliminate bad odors.

Don’t forget to click on the Auto Scent M100 to turn it on. The two bars indicate the amount of Cleanser left. You only need to refill with new Cleansers when the bars are fully depleted. One Auto Scent M100 is not enough to eliminate bad smells from the whole store, so you’ll have to place quite a few depending on the size of your store. At Shop Level 40, you’ll unlock the Auto Scent T1000, which can cover a wider range. I strongly recommend placing these machines near Play Tables as customers who use them tend to stay for a while.

How to fix wrong change

To make things quicker, feel free to adjust your change amounts slightly when making payments, but be careful not to exceed the actual amount. If you mistakenly select the wrong change, don’t worry! You can correct it by clicking the right mouse button on the value you wish to take back from the change tray. For instance, if you accidentally select a $50 bill, you can remove it by clicking the right mouse button on the $50 bill in the tray.

As a user, it’s important to remember that I can only interact with the exact denominations I initially placed on the table. So, if I’ve put five one-dollar bills and wish to withdraw them, I shouldn’t try to click on a five-dollar bill—instead, I need to select the one-dollar bills from the tray individually.

If you accidentally enter an incorrect number for a card payment, simply tap the ‘Cancel’ or ‘Clear’ button on the POS machine to remove each number individually. Remember, if your payment involves a decimal, you’ll need to manually add the decimal point as well.

How to turn on the lights

As the sun sets, the game den can get a bit shadowy, but don’t worry! Just click on the light switch right by the entrance to illuminate the room. You know, it’s best to keep the lights off during the daylight hours to save energy and keep those electric bills in check.

How to pay bills

TCG Card Shop Simulator Guide – Controls, Prices, Events

Operating a store doesn’t come without costs – you need to cover rent, utilities, and employee wages consistently. To keep track of your current balance and upcoming payment dates, use the Pay Bills app on your phone. The balance grows with each simulated work day in the game, but this isn’t due to interest; instead, it reflects the natural increase in expenses as the number of operating days increases. It’s crucial to pay promptly to avoid problems like having the lights shut off.

How to hire workers

TCG Card Shop Simulator Guide – Controls, Prices, Events

At specific Shop Level checkpoints, you can use the GO Recruit app to phone-hire workers. These workers will independently manage the cash registers and replenish stock from leftover items on the floor or warehouse shelves. They won’t buy new stock with your money. Instead, having these workers allows you more time to open packs and grow your card collection, or search for highly valuable cards that can fetch a high resale price.

During the initial phase of operations, workers move at a snail’s pace, but they can prove useful during afternoons when customer traffic is low. Avoid relying on these slower workers during busy mornings and evenings as it could lead to negative feedback.

How to initiate store events

TCG Card Shop Simulator Guide – Controls, Prices, Events

In your retail outlet, you can set up TCG tournament events using the mobile app called “Manage Events“. Customers can join these tournaments at designated “Play Tables” within your store. The format of each event can be tailored to your preference, though a fee will be charged for every event (except for one free event), which is automatically deducted when you open the store. It’s advisable to pick your preferred event format before starting business operations.

Keep in mind that stores can only have a maximum of 28 customers at a time. After about six to nine tables, the game’s AI will often disallow more customers to sit until others leave. I suggest keeping around six tables max to still get decent sales flow from in-and-out customers. If you are trying to fully maximize sales profit, you may want to get rid of Play Tables as having customers stay for a while will reduce foot traffic.

How to make your store bigger

TCG Card Shop Simulator Guide – Controls, Prices, Events

If your store is running low on space, you can grow it using the RENO BIGG app on your phone. Each store expansion comes with a one-time cost of several hundred dollars, but keep in mind that expanding too much might lead to higher rental costs as well, so avoid overextending yourself financially!
