MachineGames is marking 15 years as a game studio with a new update for Indiana Jones and The Great Circle, launching tomorrow, October 10th. The free update will add a New Game Plus mode, along with a classic outfit from ‘Raiders of the Lost Ark,’ the ability to choose voice languages, and various other improvements.
The developers at MachineGames have added New Game Plus and the Cairo outfit to Indiana Jones and the Great Circle based on player feedback. New Game Plus becomes available after you finish the main story, allowing you to carry over your Adventure Books. Because you’ll be more powerful, the developers suggest increasing the difficulty level. Plus, players who complete the game on New Game Plus will get a brand new scene after the credits roll.
In the Cairo section of the game, Indiana Jones appears without his iconic jacket, and MachineGames promises to share more details about his appearance soon. Regarding language options, players can freely combine any of the nine voice-over languages with any of the fourteen text languages.
I’ve been loving Indiana Jones and the Great Circle! Last month they added a new DLC called The Order of Giants where Indy teams up with this cool young priest, Father Ricci, in Rome. And the best news? It’s coming to the Switch 2 next year! It actually launched on PC and Xbox Series X|S late last year, and then hit PS5 earlier this year. If you want to know what I thought of the game, check out the review over at TopMob.

OTHER FEATURES
Okay, so the Xbox Series X and S now have a Power Saving mode, which is pretty cool. Basically, if my games aren’t really pushing the console to its limit, the GPU will automatically chill out to save energy. But there’s also another option I can tweak in the settings. If I turn *that* on, my game will automatically switch to a power-saving mode after I haven’t touched the controller for a bit. It’ll drop the resolution and limit the frame rate to save power, but the second I pick up the controller again, it jumps right back to normal. It’s a nice way to save some energy when I’m just relaxing or between gameplay sessions.
We’re looking to add this future to other platforms in the future.
We’ve updated the game to recognize the new ROG Xbox Ally and ROG Xbox Ally X handhelds. It will now automatically adjust the video settings to optimize performance on these devices.
GENERAL FIXES
- Fixed an issue where enemies might linger in their “stumble” animation if you punched them while they’re breaking out of your grab.
- Fixed an issue where pushing a grabbed enemy into a tight space could leave the enemy detached from Indy but still in the “grabbed” animation state.
- Fixed an issue with a specific “finisher” animation where the camera would clip through Indy’s arms.
- Fixed an issue where you could enter wall squeezes while downed and using the “Lucky Hat” ability that resulted in you standing up and unable to progress properly.
- Fixed an issue that could cause a control-lock if restarting a checkpoint during the middle of a save.
- Fixed an issue where using the “push” button to open “disguise doors” could prevent you from being able to walk through the door.
- Fixed an issue where, if you left a level while holding an inventory item, it would be stuck to your hands when revisiting the level
MISSIONS & QUESTS DLC
- Fixed another issue that might cause pipes to be placed incorrectly during the Gladiator puzzle.
- Fixed the animation of the blackshirt being dropped from the bridge near the entrance to the Gladiator puzzle.
- Fixed many minor graphical glitches through the whole story.
Peru
- Fixed an issue where audio was missing in the Main Menu if you quit the game during the opening cutscene.
Gizeh
- Fixed an issue where the clothes of certain villager NPCs would not animate when the character moved.
Sukhothai
- Fixed an issue that might cause the boat engine sounds to never stop when you arrive at the rebel village at night.
Iraq
- Fixed an issue where skipping the cinematic where Indy frees Gina might result in the Siren sounds to never stop.
UI
- The price of guides and books now show correctly when inspecting them from one of the vendors.
PC SPECIFIC FIXES
- Fixed an issue where binding the interact/use key to be the same as the “buy” button from vendors, it could prevent you from buying items.
- Fixed an issue where setting Reflections to the lowest quality made certain objects look completely black.
LOCALIZATION
- In Arabic, fixed the alignment of the quick-inventory warning text about restricted zones.
