‘Venom: The Last Dance’ Sinks Fangs Into U.K., Ireland Box Office Throne

As a lifelong cinemaphile with decades worth of popcorn stains on my favorite recliner, I can confidently say that this week’s box office lineup is nothing short of a film buff’s dream. From the anticipated “Juror #2” to the intriguing “Anora,” there’s something for every taste palate in the movie-going world.


In the United Kingdom and Ireland, Sony’s film “Venom: The Last Dance” made a strong start at the box office, earning approximately £4.3 million (or $5.6 million) during its opening weekend, as reported by Comscore’s data.

In the second week of its release, I was thrilled to see Universal’s enchanting animated feature “The Wild Robot” continued to captivate audiences, raking in an impressive £1.9 million, pushing its total earnings to a remarkable £6.4 million. Meanwhile, Paramount’s chilling horror sequel “Smile 2” held strong in its second week, too, with a £1 million haul, bringing its overall box office earnings up to a spine-tingling £4 million.

In the third week of its release, “Transformers One” from Paramount earned the fourth spot, raking in approximately £377,581 (total earnings: £3.4 million), while “The Apprentice” from Studiocanal continued to hold a top five position during its second week, bringing in £372,778 and amassing a total of £1.5 million.

In its eighth week, Warner Bros.’ film “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice” continued to impress by earning an additional £367,938, bringing its total earnings to a staggering £25.3 million. Meanwhile, the horror movie “Terrifier 3,” distributed by Signature Entertainment, held strong in seventh place during its third week, raking in £269,971 and accumulating a total of £2.8 million.

In its premiere, “The Room Next Door” (produced by Warner Bros.) earned £239,043 and ranked eighth. Meanwhile, “The Substance,” distributed by Mubi, amassed an additional £150,604 in its sixth week, bringing its total earnings to approximately £3.4 million. Furthermore, “Joker: Folie A Deux,” from Warner Bros., reached a staggering £10.1 million in its fourth week after taking in £144,712 and placing tenth.

On October 31st (Thursday), Dreamz Entertainment will be releasing the Telugu movie titled “Lucky Baskhar.” The lead role is played by Dulquer Salmaan.

This Friday brings a strong lineup of films: “Juror #2,” a courtroom drama directed by Clint Eastwood, will be released under Warner Bros., starring Zoey Deutch, Nicholas Hoult, and J.K. Simmons. Meanwhile, Universal presents “Anora,” with Mikey Madison in Sean Baker’s Cannes Palme d’Or winning film.

Entertainment Film Distributors presents the movie “Heretic” featuring Hugh Grant, while Lionsgate premieres “Small Things Like These” with Cillian Murphy. November 1 marks the Indian festival of lights, Diwali, and on this day, two highly-anticipated Bollywood films featuring a star-studded cast will be released, both continuing popular series. AA Films U.K. is launching the horror-comedy “Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3,” which stars Kartik Aaryan, Triptii Dimri, Madhuri Dixit and Vidya Balan. Meanwhile, Moviegoers Entertainment presents Rohit Shetty’s cop universe film “Singham Again,” featuring Ajay Devgn, Ranveer Singh, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Deepika Padukone, Akshay Jumar, and Tiger Shroff.

Enigma Releasing is debuting the war thriller “The Last Front” and Jade Films Cyprus’s documentary about partition, titled “The Divided Island,” to the public.

Lionsgate will be unveiling a 20-year commemorative 4K remastering of the horror classic, “Saw,” while Park Circus is showcasing the 4K rejuvenation of the 1946 movie masterpiece, “Gilda.
