Julia Roberts Says ‘Women Still Have a Right to Choose’ in Voting Booths, Even if Their Husbands Support Trump: ‘No One Will Ever Know’ How You Vote

As a seasoned movie buff who has witnessed the evolution of Hollywood and its stars over the decades, I must say that Julia Roberts‘ involvement in this campaign video is nothing short of inspiring. Her ability to use her platform for such a noble cause, advocating for women’s rights and the importance of individual choice, is truly commendable.

Julia Roberts, an esteemed figure in Hollywood, has lent her support to Kamala Harris’ presidential campaign by narrating a new campaign video produced by Vote Common Good, a progressive evangelical group. In this video, Roberts emphasizes the autonomy of women’s votes, suggesting they should make their decisions based on their own preferences, irrespective of how their partners or others might be voting. The clip features a woman casting her vote for Harris, despite her husband seeming to favor Trump.

Roberts comments that if reproductive rights are at stake in the event of a Trump re-election, one can cast their vote privately, as there will be no way to trace it, referring to the fact that the right to choose regarding women’s reproductive health is under threat in America.

In the advertisement, the lady who cast her vote for Harris exits the polling station and encounters her spouse, who queries, “Did you pick the best option?” To which she replies confidently, “Absolutely, dear,” followed by a knowing look with her female companion. This suggests that their choice of voting for Harris was a secret they shared in the booth, one that their husbands are unaware of.

“Remember,” Roberts adds as the narrator, “what happens in the booth, stays in the booth.”

Vote Common Good intends to offer a pathway out for evangelical and catholic voters who have been traditionally instructed to support Republican candidates irrespective of their moral qualities or political stances, according to information on their website.

Over the past few years, a considerable number of these voters have observed the Republican party failing to uphold their promise to promote the general welfare. Instead, they’ve been backing political and social initiatives that stem from white-nationalism, a flawed interpretation of ‘America First,’ and tactics that foster division. This was evident in the violent assault on Congress on January 6, 2021, and the persistent spreading of false claims about the 2020 Presidential election results…The actions of many Republican officials have made it challenging for some voters to remain loyal. They are now considering distancing themselves from the Republicans in order to uphold the greater good.
