Xenoblade Chronicles X Completes The Xenoblade Saga On Nintendo Switch In March

As a seasoned gamer with over two decades under my belt, I can confidently say that Nintendo never ceases to surprise us. From the quirky charm of their handheld consoles to the innovative gameplay of their home systems, they have always managed to keep us guessing. The latest announcement of Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition for the Switch is no exception.

As anticipation builds for the upcoming unveiling of the company’s new home console, Nintendo seems content with making unexpected announcements instead. For instance, they recently introduced Alarmo – a Nintendo-themed alarm clock that wakes you up with sounds from Mario, Zelda, and even dying Pikmin. Now, there’s an unexpected game reveal: Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition, a remaster of the Wii U’s Xenoblade Chronicles side-story action-RPG, is set to release on Nintendo Switch on March 25th.

Xenoblade Chronicles X is set on the expansive world of Mira, populated by both humans and colossal beasts. In this game, you’ll design your own character, who will then team up with BLADE – a human safety organization located in New Los Angeles. With BLADE, you’ll use massive, bipedal robots known as Skells to combat the threats of Mira.

The revised edition features enhanced visuals, narrative additions, and additional content; among these new narrative aspects, a tantalizing glimpse is provided in the game’s launch trailer – a cryptic figure cloaked in a hood advances toward the player on a sandy shore, but the scene concludes before their identity is disclosed.

Many Xenoblade fans were taken aback to learn about The Definitive Edition, since Tetsuya Takahashi, executive director at Monolith Soft, had previously stated in an interview with USGamer that the game’s size and budget constraints made a remake unlikely, as he described it as “an incredibly large game. Recreating it would be extremely challenging.

Initially launched on April 29th, 2015, the Definitive Edition of Xenoblade Chronicles X comes almost a decade later. In TopMob’s 8/10 review, they described it as an incredibly vast game, stating that even after investing around 60 hours, there were still towering mountains to ascend and formidable foes to conquer, with seemingly endless new challenges yet to be discovered.

On March 25th, Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition will make its exclusive debut on the Nintendo Switch at a price of $60. Preorders are now available on the Nintendo eShop, and it’s also part of Nintendo’s Game Voucher program.
