Black Ops 6 has classic prestige feature you might have missed

As a seasoned gamer with decades of Call of Duty under my belt, I can’t help but feel a rush of nostalgia when it comes to Black Ops 6 and its return to the prestige system. The chicken sound when declining a prestige? That’s a blast from the past that takes me back to my days grinding for tenth prestige in Modern Warfare 2.

In Black Ops 6, they’ve resurrected a beloved Call of Duty element alongside the traditional prestige system. It’s quite possible that you may have overlooked it.

Ever since its release on October 25, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 has garnered an overwhelmingly positive response from its community. Admittedly, there have been some challenges with the multiplayer maps, but the overall gameplay experience offers a much-needed change compared to what we’ve seen in previous years.

One advantage that players appreciate about the new game is its similarity to traditional Call of Duty games, which has been emphasized by the reintroduction of the old prestige system. This means that once you reach the highest level, you can choose to restart your progression from scratch, with the tenth prestige being a significant milestone for players.

However, choosing to prestige is a big choice. Sure, the grind can be part of the fun, but some might find it to be a slog that they don’t want to experience all over again.

If you do choose to forego another prestige, you’ll be met by the iconic Modern Warfare 2 sound of a chicken clucking at you. Yes, the game will call you a coward for not deciding to grind all over again.

In Black Ops 6, hitting “No” to Prestige in the Prestige Menu will trigger a sound reminiscent of a rooster, much like it did in Modern Warfare 2 from 2009.

One enthusiast remarked, “COD clearly understood the task, aiming at all this sense of nostalgia.” Another exclaimed, ” Frankly, I had been pondering over this aspect just a week ago. I’m thrilled that they reintroduced it!

As someone deeply engrossed in gaming, I can’t help but notice how eagerly we all anticipate the next level of prestige. Regrettably, there are those who will miss out on this exciting milestone due to various reasons.

Indeed, past Call of Duty games share some sonic similarities, but the distinctive sound of Modern Warfare 2 resonates particularly strongly due to the intense community focus on leveling up back then. Achieving Tenth Prestige was a status symbol that every dedicated player sought to attain in at least one CoD game.
