Zachary Levi Says Actors Are Telling Him They’re ‘Terrified to Publicly Say They’d Vote for Donald Trump’ Because ‘There’s Ramifications for This S—‘

As a long-time observer of Hollywood, I find myself deeply moved by Zachary Levi‘s recent stand against the perceived homogeneity within the industry. His courage to openly endorse Donald Trump, despite the potential career repercussions, is a testament to his unwavering convictions and personal integrity.

Zachary Levi recently countered Whoopi Goldberg’s statement that Hollywood has historically leaned towards the right, on Instagram. This disagreement stemmed from an episode of “The View” earlier this month, where Goldberg advised Levi after he publicly endorsed Donald Trump for president. Levi mentioned that expressing support for Trump in Hollywood, known for its liberal leanings, could potentially harm his career.

Goldberg dismissed the statement as “just nonsense” and informed Levi that “Hollywood is a diverse group.” Sometimes, she continued, it appears there are more Democrats, while at other times it seems there are more Republicans. However, she explained, the reality is that very few individuals align themselves as Republicans because they’re in the industry. To support her point, she mentioned the continuous careers of actors like Jon Voight and Dennis Quaid who identify as Republicans.

In response to Whoopi Goldberg and the team at ‘The View’, Levi stated in an Instagram video that it’s not correct to label Hollywood as both liberal and conservative. He explained, referring to Whoopi’s earlier point, that in the past there might have been more of a balance, but now it’s difficult for someone with conservative views to make a name for themselves in Hollywood unless they’ve reached a high level in their career.

Levi pointed out that Goldberg merely provided two instances, Jon Voight and Dennis Quaid. He further remarked: “The fact that you can only mention two from among the multitude of actors in Hollywood suggests a certain shallowness.

Many individuals within my profession in Hollywood are hesitant to openly express support for Donald Trump or conservative views, as they’ve received a large number of messages indicating fear. This is the reason you don’t often see them in the public eye or hear from them much. They understand that there can be consequences for such actions.

However, folks, our sector is on the verge of dramatic change. It’s already in a state of flux, and recent events like the pandemic and strikes have accelerated this change significantly. My appeal to everyone listening, even those who may still be private supporters of certain political views, is that this could be our last chance. If you feel compelled to take action publicly or privately, that’s up to you. I would never force anyone to do so. But consider this: if your hesitation stems from fear of industry backlash in a sector that may not exist for much longer, then let go of those fears.

On September 28th, Levi publicly supported Trump during a rally in Michigan, prior to presenting Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and former Representative Tulsi Gabbard on stage at the “Team Trump’s Reclaim America Tour” event. In this occasion, Levi served as moderator for a discussion between Kennedy and Gabbard, having initially supported Kennedy’s presidential campaign, but later switching his allegiance to Trump after Kennedy withdrew from the race.
