‘Queer Eye’: Bobby Berk’s Replacement Jeremiah Brent Is Front and Center in Season 9 First Look

As a long-time fan of “Queer Eye,” I find myself both excited and a tad nostalgic about the upcoming Season 9. The departure of Bobby Berk was unexpected, but the Fab Five has always been a dynamic group that thrives on change. Jeremiah Brent stepping into Berk’s shoes is an intriguing move, and I can’t wait to see how he blends with the rest of the team in Las Vegas, the city of dreams and second chances.

Netflix unveiled a sneak peek of the revamped Fab Five, as Bobby Berk has stepped down from “Queer Eye.” The upcoming season 9, featuring Jeremiah Brent taking over Berk’s role, is set to premiere on December 11.

In the main preview for the upcoming season, Brent is positioned smack in the middle, with him perched atop a colossal slot machine. The remainder of the group is strategically positioned in front of this machine in the artwork released so far.

In every season of “Queer Eye,” a team of five men who identify as gay, each with unique expertise, work together to transform not only the physical appearance but also the lives of individuals nominated by their friends and family. For Season 9, the Fab Five will be in Las Vegas, where they’ll assist heroes ranging from a former showgirl battling confidence issues to a diligent librarian seeking change.

Apart from Brent, an expert in interior design, the Fab Five also consists of Antoni Porowski, a connoisseur of food and wine, Jonathan Van Ness, who specializes in grooming, Karamo Brown, a culture and lifestyle guru, and Tan France, a fashion specialist.

In November 2023, Berk announced his departure from “Queer Eye”, expressing in a social media post that it was a difficult decision but one he felt compelled to make. Brent joined the cast in February, and there were whispers that France, with Porowski’s backing, had pushed for Berk’s dismissal and Brent’s recruitment. However, France clarified on Instagram that Berk’s termination was unrelated to him trying to secure a position for his friend.

The show ‘Queer Eye’ is supervised by a team consisting of David Collins, Michael Williams, Rob Eric, Jennifer Lane, Jordana Hochman, Mark Bracero, and Lyndsey Burr, in addition to the Fab Five members: Brown, France, Porowski, Van Ness, and Brent.
