Previously in the movie, they engaged in a heated debate about this predicament, both reluctant to die or make such a self-sacrificing move.

In the heat of the last standoff at Area 51, when the Xenophage horde was pouring through those portals like never before, it suddenly struck me, Venom here. I couldn’t bear the thought of Eddie meeting his end. So, in a desperate bid to save him, I made up my mind to make the ultimate sacrifice, taking down as many Xenophage troops as I could along with me.

In a farewell, Venom transforms completely, leaving Eddie behind, and incorporates the Xenophage forms within himself. Striding beneath the tanks filled with military-stored acid in the region, he moves on as Area 51 ceases operations, utilizing the acid to destroy equipment along the way.

In this scenario, Venom assists an injured Strickland by guiding him towards a control panel, where he issues the order to release the corrosive substance. Later, when the acid is being unleashed, Venom shields Eddie by placing a metal barrier on top of him, thus safeguarding him from the downpour of acid and the Xenophages.

It requires a few instances for the acid to inflict significant harm, and in the end, Strickland detonates a grenade to eliminate himself, Venom, and the ailing Xenophages.

Why is it called The Last Dance?

‘The title “The Last Dance” signifies that this is the final collaboration between Eddie and Venom, and also implies that Tom Hardy’s portrayal of Eddie Brock in Venom 3 might be his last performance in the role.’

According to all indications, it’s merely a polite way of stating “the conclusion”. Interestingly, the title is explicitly mentioned within the movie, during the scene where Eddie and Venom find themselves in Las Vegas.

Following an encounter with Mrs. Chen at the slot machines in a Las Vegas casino, she extends an invitation for them to join her in her luxury suite. She switches on the music box and proposes a final dance with Venom, asking if it’s permissible.

Rapidly seizing control, the duo starts dancing, while the Xenophage plunges in, closely followed by Strickland and his team.
