Emerald Fennell’s ‘Wuthering Heights’ With Margot Robbie and Jacob Elordi Lands at Warner Bros.

As a seasoned movie critic with over three decades of film-viewing under my belt, I must say that the news of Margot Robbie and Jacob Elordi starring in Emerald Fennell’s “Wuthering Heights” adaptation has me more than just a little excited!

Warner Bros. Pictures Division has secured the rights for MRC’s movie version of “Wuthering Heights,” directed by Emerald Fennell. Actors Margot Robbie and Jacob Elordi will take on leading roles in this highly-anticipated project, igniting a competitive battle among studios.

In this production setup, MRC is bankrolling the movie, while LuckyChap takes on the role of producer. The screenplay for the film is penned by Fennell, who also directs and produces it. This feature film adaptation of Emily Brontë’s novel is set to be distributed worldwide by Warner Bros. Pictures in theaters.

In their collaborative history, ‘Wuthering Heights’ serves as the second project following the success of ‘Saltburn’, produced by MRC, LuckyChap, and Fennell. It also represents the third joint effort between LuckyChap and Fennell, following ‘Promising Young Woman’.

Warner Bros.’ Michael De Luca and Pam Abdy express great excitement about collaborating with MRC, Emerald Fennell, and LuckyChap on the feature film adaptation of ‘Wuthering Heights.’ In a shared statement, they noted, “Ever since we heard about Emerald’s unique perspective for this movie, and with an exceptional cast featuring Margot and Jacob, we have been eager to work with this team to make sure the film reaches cinemas worldwide.

Most recently, Margot Robbie’s production company LuckyChap, along with Robbie herself, teamed up with Warner Bros. Pictures for the hit movie “Barbie”. The trio of Margot Robbie, her husband Tom Ackerley, and Josey McNamara from LuckyChap have signed a multi-year contract giving them priority in developing future film projects with Warner Bros. Pictures.

Ever since our initial discussions with Emerald regarding ‘Wuthering Heights,’ we’ve been captivated by her ambition to create a work that embodies the yearning and sorrow portrayed in the novel, infused with her unique style and stunning visuals,” stated Brye Adler and Jonathan Golfman from MRC. “We are overjoyed to collaborate with Warner Brothers and LuckyChap to help bring Emerald’s cinematic vision to viewers worldwide.

Fennell expressed his enthusiasm about collaborating with the exceptional Warner Bros. team again, as well as re-teaming with MRC and LuckyChap.

Fennell is managed by UTA, Entertainment 360, United Agents, Hansen, Jacobson, Teller, Hoberman, Newman, Warren, Richman, Rush, Kaller, Gellman, Meigs & Fox; Robbie is handled by Entertainment 360, CAA, Aran Michael Management, and Jeff Bernstein; Elordi is represented by Gersh and Goodman Genow Schenkman.
