‘Interior Chinatown’ Trailer: Hulu Unveils New Limited Series From Taika Waititi (TV News Roundup)

As a film enthusiast with an insatiable appetite for stories that delve into the human condition and challenge the status quo, I can’t help but be intrigued by the upcoming Hulu series “Interior Chinatown.” Based on Charles Yu’s novel of the same name, this limited series promises a fresh perspective on the age-old narrative of aspiration and self-discovery.

Hulu has revealed the teaser for their upcoming miniseries “Interior Chotokyu,” produced by Charles Yu and Taika Waititi. This series is adapted from Yu’s book of the same title, with all 10 episodes set to be released on November 10th, ready for streaming.

The show centers around Willis Wu (Jimmy O. Yang), who plays a supporting role in a TV series titled ‘Black & White.’ Stuck in the background, Willis performs his on-screen duties of waiting tables, all while harboring dreams of escaping Chinatown and starring in his own narrative. An unexpected turn of events leads him to unwittingly witness a crime, which sets off a chain reaction revealing a hidden criminal network within Chinatown. As he delves deeper into the mystery, Willis also uncovers long-buried family secrets and experiences what it’s like to be in the limelight.

The actors taking part are Ronny Chieng, Chloe Bennet, Lisa Gilroy, Sullivan Jones, Archie Kao, and Diana Lin.

In this production setup, the original creator Yu holds the position of showrunner, while Taika Waititi directed the initial episode. Dan Lin and Lindsey Liberatore from Rideback, Jeff Skoll, Miura Kite, and Elsie Choi from Participant, Garrett Basch from Dive, and John Lee are all serving as executive producers. The series “Interior Chinatown” is being produced by 20th Television.

The streaming platform, Apple TV+, has introduced a brand-new podcast called “Extrasensory.” This Apple Original Podcast is fronted by Will Sharpe, who you may recognize from shows like “The White Lotus” and “Flowers.” The series, comprising eight episodes, will make its debut on October 28.

In the 1950s England, milkman John Pollock astonishingly predicted that his deceased daughters would be reborn. At first, his wife dismisses him as a lunatic, but she later gives birth to twin girls who remarkably resemble their departed sisters. As the world becomes intrigued, Pollock’s claim catches the eye of an American scientist, who travels back and forth across the Atlantic Ocean for two decades, studying these twins intensely. He eventually reaches a breathtaking conclusion: What if death is not final, but merely a beginning? ‘Extrasensory’ explores the lives of these twin girls, who might hold the key to uncovering this mystery themselves.

“Extrasensory” is an Apple Original Podcast produced by Blanchard House.
