Joey Swoll says Jeff Nippard has pressed charges against Mike Van Wyck after viral assault

As someone who has spent years immersed in the world of bodybuilding, I’ve seen my fair share of drama and testosterone-fueled conflicts. However, nothing quite compares to the disturbing incident that unfolded between Jeff Nippard and Mike Van Wyck at Pure Muscle + Fitness.

Noted bodybuilder Joey Swoll disclosed that fitness personality Mike Van Wyck reportedly handed himself over to the police following an alleged on-camera assault of athlete Jeff Nippard.

On October 21st, a video circulated widely on social media platforms, capturing the moment when Van Wyck forcefully pushed Nippard to the floor by his neck, with the potential of causing him to fall onto a weight rack.

After the video cut off, Nippard asserted later on that Mike struck him again in the throat. Following this incident, he allegedly shoved his cameraman up against a cable machine.

Since the incident at Pure Muscle + Fitness in Burlington, Ontario, Van Wyck has been barred from that gym, and various fitness influencers have publicly criticized his behavior towards Nippard on social media.

If you haven’t heard, an incident occurred between Mike Van Wyck and Jeff Nippard where Mike allegedly assaulted Jeff. This is not a rumor or hoax, it’s factual. Here’s the original video for your reference. It seems this altercation didn’t end there. #massiveiron

Initially, Joey Swoll, a well-known figure in the bodybuilding world, didn’t promptly share his thoughts on this specific subject. His followers were eager for him to address it, and eventually, on October 22nd, he shared significant news about the matter with his viewers, marking a big step forward in the story.

Swoll reports that Nippard has formally accused Van Wyck of assault, and it is claimed that Wyck surrendered to the police.

In a tweet, it was stated that Mike, the individual who attacked Jeff, was expelled from Pure Muscle Gym yesterday evening following Jeff’s decision to file charges against him, and Mike surrendered himself to authorities.

“It is NEVER ok to put your hands on someone the way Mike did to Jeff, in the gym or ANYWHERE. This absolutism in the fitness industry needs to STOP. No matter your beliefs, the gym is ONE community, a brother/sisterhood, and we need to respect each other with ZERO tolerance for violence.”

Yesterday, a troubling video emerged of fitness influencer Jeff Nippard being attacked at the gym. Instead of jumping on the bandwagon by creating videos or comments about it, I reached out privately to him (and his friends) to check on his wellbeing and offer support. I wanted to give him the space he might need if he didn’t want any public attention.

According to Nippard, he recently had a CT scan which showed no physical issues, but the emotional impact of his public confrontation with Van Wyck has left him feeling unsettled.

He expressed his gratitude in an Instagram post, saying, “The heartfelt encouragement from our community and fellow gym members is truly invaluable. It’s helping me manage this difficult time significantly better. So, I want to extend my sincere thanks to each one of you.

According to Swoll, he chose not to express his views on the subject until he had consulted with Nippard and verified that the influencer was alright. He published his post following a lengthy video call with him in the early hours of the day.

At the moment I’m writing this, Van Wyck hasn’t issued a statement, but he’s been posting updates on his Instagram stories, which include messages of encouragement sent by his followers and peers within the creative community over the last day.
