As a dedicated Call of Duty fan with countless hours poured into Modern Warfare 3 over the years, I must say I find myself disheartened by the recent updates. The final patch for MW3, released on October 21, has left me and many others feeling frustrated, particularly in regards to the Reclaimer shotgun.
Fans of Call of Duty have found themselves disappointed with the last update for Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone, particularly concerning the Reclaimer shotgun.
Black Ops 6’s launch is imminent, signaling that the run for Modern Warfare 3 is almost over. The last seasonal upgrade rolled out on September 18 with the debut of Season 6, but there have been some adjustments since then.
On October 21st, Sledgehammer released what appears to be the final update for Modern Warfare 3. This update brought about changes to gameplay modes, reintroduced Deployable Cover, fixed user interface issues, and made some adjustments to weapons. Notably, the overpowering Reclaimer shotgun, causing havoc in multiplayer and Warzone lately, was toned down with this new update.
Even though the shotgun’s power has been slightly reduced, fans find it frustrating that the single-wield (non-akimbo) version has been weakened to the same extent as its more potent alternatives.
One fan stated, “The reclaimers didn’t require any adjustments; they were balanced just fine. It was only the dual-wielding (akimbo) version that needed a change.” Another concurred, “It was indeed the dual-wielding variant that needed an update.
“They didn’t have to nerf the non akimbo. Forcing the two gun meta again,” commented another.
Another player begged the devs to reconsider. “The nerf to the single Reclaimer is gigantic and unnecessary, as it was mostly the kit that was an issue. The single Reclaimer is pretty much useless now,” they said.
Since this is our last update for the year, it’s unlikely that your request will be considered at this time. The possible adjustment may be reviewed once Warzone integrates with Black Ops Cold War, though that change would only apply to the battle royale aspect.
