The international rights for the show titled ‘Nightsleeper’ have been acquired by a variety of broadcasters worldwide, including M-Net (Africa), VRT (Belgium), HRT (Croatia), CyBC (Cyprus), DR (Denmark), Yle (Finland), COSMOTE TV (Greece), RUV (Iceland), HOT and Cellcom (Israel), Yes (Israel), LTV (Latvia), NPO (Netherlands), NRK (Norway), Canais TVCine – NOS (Portugal), Movistar Plus+ (Spain), SVT (Sweden), RTS (Switzerland), Stan (Australia), WOWOW (Japan), Three (New Zealand), PBS Ltd (Malta) and Universal+ (Latin America). Previously, deals with TF1 in France and Stan in Australia had already been disclosed.
Featuring Alexandra Roach and Joe Cole, this action-packed thriller revolves around “a cyber attack on a train traveling from Glasgow to London, and the desperate attempts by a secret agency to intervene as the situation aboard rapidly spirals out of control,” as described in its summary. “Will a pair of strangers, one on the train and one off, manage to collaborate and safeguard the lives of the diverse passengers onboard as the Heart of Scotland overnight service rushes towards what could potentially be its last stop?
The show titled ‘Night Sleeper’ is manufactured by Euston Films under Fremantle for both BBC One and BBC iPlayer. This series, a brainchild of BAFTA award winner Nick Leather who has previously worked on ‘The Control Room’, serves as its creator and writer. The esteemed Jamie Magnus Stone (‘Doctor Who’) and John Hayes (‘Dublin Murders’) are the directors for this production. Nick Leather also acts as an executive producer, assisted by Kate Harwood, Jamie Magnus Stone, and Gaynor Holmes from BBC. Jonathan Curling takes on the role of a producer, with Daisy Costello co-producing.
