Black Ops 6 Mastery Badges explained: Rewards & how to get them

As a seasoned gamer with over two decades under my belt, I can confidently say that the introduction of Mastery Badges in Black Ops 6 has taken my gaming experience to a whole new level. The thrill of proving my prowess in each weapon and equipment is unparalleled, and it’s a feature that truly sets this game apart from others in the genre.

In Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, you’ll find an innovative collection of badges, similar to medals, known as Mastery Badges. These badges showcase your skills with various weapons. Here’s a breakdown of their purpose and how to obtain them.

In Black Oops 6, there are numerous methods to flaunt your skills, such as the Mastery camos for every weapon or the reappearing Prestige system. However, Treyarch has added an additional means to boast over your peers in this installment.

As a seasoned gamer, I’m thrilled about the new Mastery Badges! Now, I can proudly showcase my expertise on every piece of gear to my fellow gamers in the lobby.

What are Mastery Badges?

In the latest version of Black Ops 6, Mastery Badges serve as a fresh progression system to recognize and honor your proficiency with various weapons, gear, and Scorestreaks. You can earn these badges in both multiplayer and Zombie modes, with distinct challenges tailored for each.

Each item has three badges, ranging from Bronze to Gold, which can then be viewed through your Showcase, and you can also choose three to be displayed whenever you appear in the Winner’s Circle at the end of the match.

As a player, I can’t help but notice that the emblem on my weapon is visible to everyone in the KillCam, giving away whether I’m an experienced user of this particular firearm or still learning the ropes.

How to unlock Mastery Badges

To unlock every Mastery Badge for an individual weapon, Scorestreak, or Grenade, you’ll have to achieve a sequence of three specific tasks. Additionally, there’s a Diamond badge up for grabs in each category like Assault Rifles or SMGs, if you manage to get Gold rank for every weapon, equipment, or Scorestreak within that class.

Each object has unique goals, yet some instances were illustrated in the advancement blog before the launch: (or alternatively, A distinct goal is set for every item; however, certain cases were shown as examples in the pre-launch progress report.)

The number will vary depending on what you’re using and will likely increase as you climb through the tiers.

Mastery Badge rewards

As a gamer, here’s how I might rephrase it: “Obtaining the Gold Mastery Badge for any item awards me a unique Stat Tracker that gets attached to the badge itself. This tracker tallies up my kills, blocks, damage, and more, showcasing the exact count for everyone to see in the Winner’s Circle or KillCam.

Mostly, the other badges serve more as visual elements, but what sets the Diamond category apart is that it rewards you with a “boosted XP” when achieved, which I’d call a “Vigorous XP Bonus.” This bonus is given to you each time you earn the Diamond badge for a specific category.
