Makeup artist ‘The Key Look’ says she “deeply regrets” overstepping bride’s boundaries after going viral

As a fervent admirer of Keziah Jones and her thriving business The Key Look, I’ve been following her journey with great interest. Her tale of going viral on TikTok, initially due to an unfortunate incident at a client’s wedding, has undeniably caught my attention.

Initially, makeup artist Keziah Jones didn’t anticipate becoming Internet famous after being dismissed from a wedding ceremony; however, that’s exactly what happened when videos of the incident went viral on TikTok. Recently, she shared her feelings of remorse with TopMob about the situation.

In February 2020, makeup artist Keziah Jones launched her high-end bridal hair and makeup venture, The Key Look. Within a short span, the team expanded from three members to fifteen, and she’s eagerly looking forward to further growth in her business endeavors.

On the bride’s special day, Jones aimed to devote all her focus to the bride and her requirements. However, this dedicated approach seemed to elude her during the wedding of client Kiana, which took place on September 7th.

At Kiana’s wedding, Jones’ incident became a popular topic on TikTok when she was asked to leave the event. Subsequently, she narrated her wedding experience and expressed her apologies to the couple in a series of posts.

A significant number of spectators felt sympathetic towards the bride, arguing that Jones crossed a line by remaining until late into the night, long after her services were scheduled to end.

As a gamer putting it in my own words, I’d like to address those who might have found my viral moment off-putting after Kiana’s wedding. I admit, I made a misstep understanding the situation, and I wanted to set things straight with TopMob.

At the wedding, I was having a blast until the whole responsibility of capturing every moment fell onto me due to my love for creating TikTok content. Unfortunately, the groom didn’t appreciate this and asked me to leave because of it.

As a gamer, I figured he might be going through a tough time, but unluckily for me, I happened to be the one who caught his frustration,” I shared with you all.

Jones opted to return to the wedding, despite the hushed discussions among other vendors about her unexpected re-emergence. “I wasn’t ashamed of the wedding attendees,” Jones explained, “but I was embarrassed that the vendors were aware of the situation.” She had thought that she and the bride had established a strong connection for the bride to feel at ease discussing things with her.

Previously, the brides I assisted were always transparent and honest, so I’m focusing on improving my communication skills to ensure such issues don’t occur in the future,” Jones stated.

Following Jones’ post about her story on TikTok, she encountered criticism for being in the bridal gown-unveiling pictures. Yet, she was deeply saddened when she saw the final images, expressing, “I hadn’t realized and truly wished someone had informed me to step aside… I can understand why they might be upset.

Moreover, Jones confessed that she hadn’t anticipated becoming viral in a negative light. “Becoming viral due to something negative isn’t fun and I never thought this would happen to me, given the hard work I put into building my business. Despite the internet’s potential benefits, I’ve discovered through this ordeal that it can also be quite painful.

In spite of the opposition, Jones stated that her bookings have been steadily increasing. Moreover, she mentioned that on an average, her team handles around five weddings each month, and this number has stayed constant.

Despite finding it overwhelming, Jones acknowledged that she was at fault and took responsibility for her actions. She admitted that her feelings guided her to make an incorrect choice, specifically, to post about the incident on social media.
