Silent Hill 2's Patch 1.04 Fixes James' Weird Teleportation Issues

As a seasoned survivor of countless horror games and a devoted fan of the Silent Hill series, I can confidently say that Bloober Team’s remake of Silent Hill 2 was an eerie, immersive masterpiece that sent shivers down my spine. However, like any well-crafted haunted house, it had a few creaky floorboards – or in this case, bugs and glitches.

Bloober Team’s Silent Hill 2 remake defied expectations, perfectly nailing the creepy atmosphere of the original while applying their own spin on the survival horror classic. But as wonderful as was, it launched with a few bugs and glitches across PlayStation 5 and PC.

For this particular reviewer, encountering bugs was minimal, but not everyone shared the same experience. Some gamers mentioned that protagonist James Sunderland occasionally moved to places he shouldn’t have too soon in the game. This glitch caused quite a hassle, and it wasn’t only James who felt the strain. The problem stemmed from a specific peephole on a hospital door in Brookhaven. If James attempted to interact with it from an incorrect angle, there was a risk of being transported to the other side, thus hindering progression.

However, both Konami and Bloober Team have released the initial significant update for the game, version 1.04, with the objective of resolving numerous issues such as glitches and bugs that gamers have encountered on PlayStation 5 and PC platforms.

Silent Hill 2 Patch 1.04 Notes

Aside from James’ bout of teleportation in Brookhaven Hospital, the patch also addresses:

  • An issue where breaking windows near Neely’s Bar got James stuck in the window frame.
  • An issue that allowed James to access the inaccessible balcony in Blue Creek Apartments.
  • An issue with Abstract Daddy’s behavior during boss fight where the enemy was not hitting James properly.
  • Multiple issues with Abstract Daddy’s 3rd TV – it should now have the correct audio, and the wall won’t interfere with its position.
  • An issue with a question mark from the Conference Room not disappearing after obtaining Cinderella figurine in Lakeview Hotel.
  • An issue with collision detection with the Dayroom walls in Brookhaven Hospital.
  • An issue where James was falling under the map when approaching Laura entering Brookhaven Hospital from the bushes on the left.
