Dawn O’Porter Novel ‘Paper Aeroplanes’ Set to Be Adapted for TV by New Entertainment Franchise Company Victura Media (EXCLUSIVE)

As a cinephile with decades of experience under my belt, I can’t help but feel a sense of excitement and anticipation upon hearing about Victura Media’s debut. With heavyweights like Thom Chapman and Gráinne McNamara at the helm, this new company seems poised to make waves in the world of entertainment franchises. Their combined 20 years of experience working on beloved brands such as “Peanuts,” “PAW Patrol,” and Hatchimals is a testament to their keen eye for quality and potential.

At the Mopcon event, Victura Media, a fresh enterprise specializing in handling entertainment franchises, has officially debuted. Among its initial lineup is a television version of Dawn O’Porter’s novel “Paper Aeroplanes.” In addition, Victura will distribute several productions from Skybound Entertainment, the team behind “The Walking Dead,” such as “PSI Cops,” “Super Dinosaur,” and “Skybound Presents: Spike & Mike’s Festival of Animation.

As a film enthusiast myself, I’m thrilled to share that I’ve been part of the founding team of Victura, a groundbreaking transatlantic company spanning across the U.K. and Canada. Our mission is to create and manage global intellectual properties using a comprehensive 360-degree approach encompassing retail, licensing, gaming, and content.

The agreement for “Paper Aeroplanes,” a story set in small-town life during adolescence that revolves around the friendship of two teenage girls from Guernsey, Renee and Flo, was negotiated by literary agent Adrian Sington in partnership with McNamara.

O’Porter expressed excitement about continuing his partnership with Grainne, who’s embarking on a new film and TV project. He eagerly anticipates bringing characters Renee and Flo from the written world to television and beyond. ‘Paper Aeroplanes’, his debut novel, holds a special significance for him, not just as his first book but also due to its Guernsey setting, where he spent a significant part of his childhood. He believes these characters will resonate with women across generations. The struggles they face are enduring, and the narrative beautifully highlights the unforgettable strength of female camaraderie.

In 2025, Skybound’s “Spike & Mike’s Festival of Animation” is scheduled to restart. Alongside this, Victura has been entrusted with the distribution responsibilities for both the duo’s unconventional animated festivals and other Skybound content.

Victura Media is additionally serving as an advisor to Enterprise Ireland, offering Irish production studios guidance on intellectual property (IP) management, international licensing, and merchandising.

As a passionate film aficionado, I’ve noticed an intriguing transformation in entertainment. Audiences are taking control of their viewing experiences, while creator-driven content is gaining immense importance. Recognizing this shift, we established Victura Media with the aim of bridging gaps between intellectual property management and expanding global franchises across various business sectors.
