Red Dead Redemption on PS5? This is Indicated by Information From Rockstar Games Employee

As a seasoned gamer with over two decades under my belt, I can’t help but feel a sense of anticipation upon seeing the recent developments surrounding Red Dead Redemption on PlayStation 5. It’s not every day that we stumble upon such intriguing tidbits from the industry insiders themselves.

It was observed by user X (Timur222) that Emma Anderson, who works for Rockstar Games as a production coordinator, has listed her involvement in the release of Red Dead Redemption 2 on PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch on her LinkedIn profile.

It’s uncertain if this information refers to something new (the page seems to have never been archived), or what exactly it pertains to. It could be a straightforward error, with the creator possibly meaning PlayStation 4 instead? The original Red Dead Redemption was released for this platform more than a year ago. Supporting the theory that it might be PlayStation 4 is the mention of both PS5 and Nintendo console versions, as the game initially came out on PlayStation 4 and Switch simultaneously.

Despite this, it’s quite puzzling that this platform hasn’t yet rectified such an error. It seems unlikely that this issue concerns the previously mentioned RDR support for backward compatibility. There appears to be no compelling explanation for Anderson to emphasize the inclusion of such a feature in her resume.

It’s plausible to think that Red Dead Redemption could get an upgrade specifically tailored for PS5, possibly featuring higher resolution and enhanced graphics. If the game launches on PCs next week and receives notable enhancements, it wouldn’t be surprising if Rockstar Games were also working on a “next-gen” update for the original Red Dead Redemption.

Absolutely, it’s all conjecture at the moment. Whether the reference to Emmy Anderson on her profile is an innocent oversight or a sneak peek into Rockstar’s future plans, time will tell us the truth.
