As a seasoned gamer with decades of gaming under my belt, I have witnessed console wars come and go, each time leaving behind a trail of friendships forged and broken over which platform was superior. Today, we find ourselves in an era where exclusivity is slowly fading away, and games are becoming more accessible across various platforms. However, the Dragon Ball Sparking! ZERO, a game close to my heart, has left me in a bit of a conundrum.
Console wars are maybe not over, but it seems like the fights are slowly dying down. We can see that less titles are exclusive to one device only (save Nintendo, but that’s a whole different story). We can play games cross-platform and often even sync progress between them. What about Dragon Ball Sparking! ZERO? This series is remembered well by millions of people, and it is getting new fans every year. How does it stand out when it comes to allowing sparrings across the Internet? Is it possible to play it cross platform? Can you play with others using different devices? Let’s find out.
Dragon Ball Sparking Zero – cross platform feature explained
As a devoted Dragon Ball fan, I can confidently say that Dragon Ball Sparking Zero is designed to be enjoyed across various platforms such as PlayStation, Xbox, and PC. While some might dream of playing it on mobile devices, maneuvers like Teleportation, Beam Deflection, and other intricate techniques are generally easier to execute with a controller or mouse and keyboard rather than swiping your fingers while on the move. Many fans are curious about additional capabilities that are frequently mixed up with cross-platform play, often referred to as cross-play. This function enables gamers to interact with one another irrespective of the gaming platform they’re using. Regrettably, this isn’t a feature in Sparking Zero.
While there may seem to be some obstacles, there’s still a glimmer of hope. Jun Furutani, the producer of this production, has hinted at crossplay in an interview with IGN. In it, he acknowledged that his team is currently facing challenges when it comes to enabling players from different platforms to compete online. Since the developers are actively looking into this issue, there’s a chance that crossplay could be introduced in one of the future updates, but let’s not get too excited just yet.
