Nicholas Gyeney’s Supernatural Thriller ‘The Activated Man,’ Starring Tony Todd, Sean Young, Sets Theatrical Release (EXCLUSIVE)

As a seasoned cinephile who has witnessed the evolution of horror and supernatural genres since the days of “The Exorcist” and “Poltergeist”, I am thrilled to learn about Nicholas Gyeney’s “The Activated Man”. The cast, featuring genre veterans like Tony Todd and Sean Young, along with up-and-coming talents, promises a chilling experience.

On Friday, December 13th, Nicholas Gyeney’s supernatural thriller “The Activated Man” will make its global debut on the stage at the Writers Guild Theater in Beverly Hills. Over the following week, the film will be screened in cinemas across Los Angeles, Tempe, Huntingdon, and various other cities throughout the United States.

The film’s star-studded lineup includes horror legends Tony Todd (“Candyman”), Sean Young (“Blade Runner”), and Kane Hodder, famous for his role as Jason Voorhees in the “Friday the 13th” series. They are joined by Andrew Keegan (“10 Things I Hate About You”), Vladimir Kulich (“Vikings”), Sab Shimono (“Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III”), Jamie Costa, Ivana Rojas (“This Fool”), and Scott Brown.

In this movie, Costa portrays a typical character dealing with the sorrow of losing his beloved pet. His despair brings about eerie hallucinations, making it challenging to distinguish between normal grief and otherworldly influences.

The movie is overseen by Gyeney’s company Mirror Images Ltd during its production, with Gyeney and Kelsey Aho taking on the roles of producers.

Since its premiere at Dances With Films NYC in December 2023, ‘The Activated Man’ has earned around 30 festival awards. Among these recent recognitions are the Paramount Premium Award at the Tony Curtis International Film Festival in Hungary, as well as best horror/thriller awards at the Glendale International Film Festival and the HorrOrigins Film Festival in Tucson.

Stonecutter Media, based in New York, has obtained distribution rights for North America, intending to debut the movie on cable and digital on-demand services from December 13th onwards.

Gyeney expressed his eagerness: “We can’t wait to reveal our unique horror movie to North American viewers this coming December! This film isn’t just for fans of horror or the supernatural; we think it’ll strike a chord with those who are grappling with loss and grief, particularly through the lens of spirituality.
