‘Creature Commandos’ New Trailer: James Gunn Brings a Nazi-Killing Robot, R-Rated Gore and More to the Rebooted DC Universe

As a movie critic who has spent decades immersed in the vibrant world of cinematic artistry, I must admit that the trailer for James Gunn’s “Creature Commandos” has piqued my interest like never before. The concept of a secret team of incarcerated monsters on dangerous missions is not only intriguing but also presents an opportunity to explore fresh narrative territories within the DC Universe.

I’m thrilled to share that the latest trailer for James Gunn’s “Creature Commandos” animated series has dropped, straight from New York Comic Con! Starting December 5th, we’ll be diving into this seven-episode season, with a fresh episode unveiled every week all the way through to January 16th. Can’t wait!

As a passionate cinephile, I’m excited about the concept of “Creature Commandos.” This series follows a covert group of imprisoned monstrosities who are called upon for tasks that are too risky for humans. When all other options have been exhausted, they become your final, most dreadful choice.

This production features Steve Agee portraying Economos, Maria Bakalova taking on the role of Princess Ilana, Anya Chalotra playing Circe, Zoe Chao acting as Nina Mazursky, Frank Grillo assuming the character of Rick Flag Sr., Sean Gunn in dual roles as both GI Robot and Weasel, David Harbour appearing as Frankenstein, Alan Tudyk portraying Dr. Phosphorus, Indira Varma bringing The Bride to life, and Viola Davis embodying Amanda Waller.

The debut title for Gunn and Peter Safran’s fresh start at DC Studios, the reimagined DC Universe, is called ‘Creature Commandos’. This series continues where the first season of ‘Peacemaker’ leaves off, as Amanda Waller, played by Davis, gathers a unique team – think of it as a black ops squad, but with resurrected monsters instead of supervillains.

The program, penned and overseen by Gunn, is centered around DC characters and is jointly produced by DC Studios and Warner Bros. Animation. Other executive producers include Safran, Dean Lorey, and Sam Register. Rick Morales acts as the chief supervising producer in this project.

Coming soon in the evolving DC Universe are the second season of “Peacemaker” featuring John Cena as the lead character, as well as James Gunn’s revamp of “Superman” starring David Corenswet. Additionally, you can expect “Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow” with Millie Alcock from “House of the Dragon”, “The Authority”, “The Brave and the Bold”, “Swamp Thing”, and various TV series such as “Lanterns”, “Waller”, “Paradise Lost”, “Booster Gold”, and many others.
