Season 2 of Gen V will feature appearances by key characters from The Boys, setting the stage for a showdown with Homelander.
The second season of the show focuses on what happens after Vought frames and imprisons Marie Moreau (Jaz Sinclair) and her friends. This all follows the destruction caused by Sam Riordan (Asa Germann) and Cate Dunlap (Maddie Phillips) at Godolkin University in the season one finale.
Marie has been improving her ability to control blood with her mind, with help from the new Dean at God U, Cipher. People at Gen V are now speculating she might even be stronger than Homelander.
Okay, so in Episode 6, things really hit the fan! We, as the Gen V kids, are basically running for our lives from Elmira Prison, and thankfully, we get some serious help from a couple of characters you guys know from *The Boys*. It was a huge relief, honestly!
Giancarlo Esposito returns as ex-Vought CEO Stan Edgar to save the Gen V team
Episode 6 gets a boost from Giancarlo Esposito as former Vought CEO Stan Edgar, who teams up with his superpowered granddaughter, Zoe Neuman (Olivia Morandin). This unlikely pair rescues Moreau’s group from the powerful supe, Vikor (Tate Fletcher), with Zoe delivering a brutal finishing blow – she uses her tentacle-like mouth to decapitate him. It’s a shocking and violent moment.
Stan explains to the team that he’s been living in a comfortable nuclear bunker ever since the events of The Boys Season 4. He’s been looking after Zoe, whose mother tragically died due to Billy Butcher (Karl Urban) and his unusual, tentacle-like growth.
Stan and Neuman Jr. rescue the students, and the former CEO also shares crucial details with Marie about where her powers come from and the secretive Project Odessa. He explains that the project involved experimenting on embryos, injecting them with Compound V very early in their development.
Thomas Godolkin (Ethan Slater) attempted a risky method to develop exceptionally powerful heroes. However, the process resulted in many infant deaths and only produced two successful subjects: Homelander and Marie.
This ability allowed her to bring her sister, Annabeth (Keeya King), back to life after suffering a fatal injury in Episode 5.
Stan promises Marie he’ll protect her once he’s back in charge at Vought, if she helps him take down Homelander. That fight seems far off right now, but at least the young supes from Gen V have a safe place to hide. Cipher is planning to eliminate three-quarters of the students at God U, so they need it.
Everything is now leading up to the last season of The Boys, and Marie is poised to be a key player in the fight against Homelander, working with Billy Butcher, Hughie Campbell, and the team.
