FanDuel Takes Over Naming Rights to Diamond Sports RSNs

As a sports enthusiast and someone who has spent countless hours glued to regional sports networks, this news is nothing short of exhilarating! FanDuel, a name synonymous with excitement and entertainment in the gaming world, is now set to dominate my favorite RSNs. The opportunity for these networks to be rebranded as FanDuel Sports Networks is a game-changer, not just for the company, but for us fans as well!

FanDuel is getting into the chaotic world of regional sports TV.

As a passionate admirer, I’m thrilled to share the news that the gaming titan is set to bestow its name upon the 16 regional sports networks run by Diamond Sports Group, effectively erasing the Bally Sports branding that has graced these sports outlets for several years. From this point forward, all these networks and Diamond Sports’ digital and streaming platforms will be seamlessly integrated into the FanDuel Sports Network, creating a unified platform for sports enthusiasts like myself.

The specific financial details of the agreement were kept confidential. Diamond Sports, in 2023, sought bankruptcy protection and since then has been engaged in intense negotiations with the leagues it broadcasts, such as the NBA, NHL, and Major League Baseball. On occasion, these leagues have attempted to air local and regional games independently.

The agreement will expand FanDuel, a company under Flutter, the chance to boost its visibility in a highly competitive market. Mike Raffensperger, president of sports for FanDuel, stated that partnering with Diamond offers an opportunity to position the FanDuel brand at the crossroads of the country’s largest regional sports networks. A significant portion of FanDuel’s customer base are avid viewers of these regional sports networks, and this partnership enables us to strengthen the FanDuel brand among sports enthusiasts and offers a distinctive method for rewarding our users.

According to the agreement, FanDuel can broadcast shows from their own FanDuel TV channel, such as “Up & Adams” in the mornings, across various sports networks. Additionally, FanDuel is granted the ability to re-sell Diamond’s live streaming service.

As a movie reviewer, I’d put it like this: “As the CEO of Diamond, I’m thrilled to announce that this partnership will deepen our bond with our local fans. We’re working hard to improve our direct-to-consumer services for our ever-expanding digital audience. With deals now sealed with the NBA, NHL, and our major distributors, we’re fully committed to pushing our business forward and creating value for our teams and shareholders.

As a follower of Diamond Sports Group, I’m excited to be part of the expansion that will see 16 regional sports networks (RSNs) join our family: FanDuel Sports Network Detroit, FanDuel Sports Network Florida, FanDuel Sports Network Great Lakes, FanDuel Sports Network Kansas City, FanDuel Sports Network Indiana, FanDuel Sports Network Midwest, FanDuel Sports Network North, FanDuel Sports Network Ohio, FanDuel Sports Network Oklahoma, FanDuel Sports Network SoCal, FanDuel Sports Network South, FanDuel Sports Network Southeast, FanDuel Sports Network Southwest, FanDuel Sports Network Sun, FanDuel Sports Network West, and FanDuel Sports Network Wisconsin. Each of these networks will bring unique sports content to their respective regions, enriching the viewing experience for fans like myself.
