Oscar Winner Guneet Monga Kapoor Boards Raam Reddy’s ‘The Fable’ Ahead of India Premiere at Mumbai Festival (EXCLUSIVE)

As a film enthusiast who has spent countless hours immersed in the silver screen world, I am thrilled to express my unbridled excitement for “The Fable.” Having witnessed the magical transformations brought forth by cinematic sorcerers like Raam Reddy, I can confidently say that this movie promises an enchanting journey. The film’s unique blend of past and present, as described in Siddhant Adlakha’s captivating review from EbMaster, resonates deeply with my own experiences of revisiting childhood memories through the lens of adulthood.

Producer Guneet Monga Kapoor, an Academy Award winner, and Achin Jain of Sikhya Entertainment have agreed to take on executive producer roles for the movie titled “The Fable,” which is helmed by Raam Reddy. This film is scheduled to premiere in India at the forthcoming MAMI Mumbai Film Festival.

The movie features Manoj Bajpayee playing the character Dev, joined by Priyanka Bose, Deepak Dobriyal, and Tillotama Shome. This film is set amidst the stunning backdrop of the Indian Himalayas, where a family residing on an orchard estate experiences tranquility until they’re disturbed by strange occurrences.

“The Fable,” which recently debuted at the Berlinale and will soon screen at SEMINCI Valladolid, has garnered favorable critiques. In his evaluation for EbMaster, Siddhant Adlakha highlighted the film’s “uncontainable force,” skillfully employed by Reddy, as if he were a masterful filmmaker conjuring magic to blend past and present, until recollections, nostalgia, and deeply ingrained convictions no longer feel etched in stone. Essentially, it offers a fresh, essential perspective on self, childhood, and home.

The movie is jointly produced by India’s Prspctvs Productions and Maxmedia, based in the United States. Reddy has previously worked on “Thithi,” which received two Golden Leopards at the 68th Locarno Film Festival and was awarded the National Film Award for the best feature film in the Kannada language.

At the 2023 Oscars, the documentaries “Sikhya” and “The Elephant Whisperers,” directed by Kartiki Gonsalves, were awarded as the best in the short film category.

Monga Kapoor announced: “We’re thrilled to present ‘The Fable’ at MAMI 2024! It’s delightful to find an Indian movie that transcends boundaries and defies the norms often associated with our film industry. Directed by the gifted Raam Reddy, ‘The Fable’ beautifully encapsulates the essence of our Himalayan landscapes. This is a uniquely Indian narrative with a timeless message, brilliantly captured on celluloid. With an outstanding cast featuring Manoj Bajpayee, Priyanka Bose, Deepak Dobriyal, and Tillotama Shome, we can’t wait to contribute to the global acclaim of ‘The Fable’. After all, fables were a significant part of our childhood; maybe it’s time for us to rediscover one.

Reddy expressed: “It brings me immense joy that Guneet and Achin have chosen to embrace this extraordinary, enchanting vision, joining us at this pivotal moment – right before our Indian debut at MAMI. I hold their groundbreaking collection of work in high esteem, and I believe there’s a strong affinity between my aspirations for this film and Sikhya’s commitment to pioneering cinema. I am thrilled about this fresh collaboration, eagerly anticipating the upcoming stages of our journey.
