Wuchang: Fallen Feathers Might Be The Next Big Soulslike To Come From China

As a seasoned gamer with a penchant for immersive, action-packed experiences that challenge my skills and test my mettle, I can’t help but be intrigued by Wuchang: Fallen Feathers. The trailer, reminiscent of the enchanting Black Myth: Wukong, offers a tantalizing glimpse into a world steeped in mythology, magic, and mystery – a potent cocktail that promises an unforgettable journey.

During this week’s Xbox Partner Preview, 505 Games unveiled an extended sneak peek at Wuchang: Fallen Feathers, a Soulslike game reminiscent of Black Myth: Wukong. The narrative unfolds in China towards the end of the Ming dynasty, yet the trailer’s imagery hints that mythology and magic may have a more significant impact on the game than historical accuracy. A glimpse into the abilities players can expect to wield is also provided.

In the game, the main character is called Wuchang, who seems to prefer wielding a sword. Yet, the video suggests that she’s proficient in using her staff to launch projectiles and even some spells or magic-like attacks. It’s challenging to gauge Wuchang’s personality because the trailer only has an unknown adversary speaking, who yearns for vengeance over the fall of the Ming empire, and Wuchang seems to be standing in his way towards achieving that goal.

In the midst of Wuchang’s continuous clashes with divine entities she confronts, the realm of Shu has been afflicted by a mysterious illness known as feathering, capable of inducing mutations. However, in Wuchang’s possession, these feathering-induced mutations could potentially grant extra abilities or transform her into something beyond human form. Despite Wuchang seemingly powerful without these capabilities, they may prove crucial for some of the challenging battles to come.

As a thrilled gamer, I’m excited to share that my next gaming adventure, “Wuchang: Fallen Feathers,” is landing on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC! And here’s the cherry on top – on the very first day of its release, this game will be available through Game Pass, thanks to the collaboration between 505 Games and Microsoft. Can’t wait to embark on this feathery journey with all of you!
