As a seasoned gamer with over two decades of gaming experience under my belt, I can’t help but feel a sense of nostalgia when it comes to the upcoming console release of Edens Zero. Hiro Mashima’s space fantasy comic/anime has been a part of my life since the days of Fairy Tail and Rave Master, and seeing this new adventure come to life as a 3D action RPG is genuinely exciting.
In October 2024, during the Xbox Partner Preview, there was an unexpected trailer for a Japanese anime-inspired action RPG titled “Edens Zero”. This series is set to debut its console game on both the Xbox Series X|S and PC platforms in 2025.
Microsoft has created an Xbox page dedicated to the game, and Konami’s announcement indicates they plan to develop it further as a 3D Action Role-Playing Game (RPG). The trailer hints that players will have the ability to manage characters beyond just the main character, Shiki Granbell.
Furthermore, the Xbox webpage provides details about both the minimum and suggested system requirements for individuals planning to run the forthcoming game on a personal computer.

We haven’t seen the console action RPG since Konami unveiled it at Tokyo Game Show 2020, with the company primarily concentrating on the mobile game they announced concurrently. That game was Edens Zero Pocket Galaxy, which Konami released globally on February 24, 2022. Unfortunately, that mobile game only lasted about two years before Konami closed it down earlier this year on February 29.
As a fervent fan, I’ve been eagerly waiting for updates about the Edens Zero console game, but it seems the Japanese Konami headquarters are keeping us up late, as they haven’t uploaded their trailer and website in the Xbox Partner Preview that took place beyond midnight in the Japanese time zone.
