‘Phineas and Ferb’ Revival Cast, Teaser Art Revealed for Next Year’s Disney Return (EXCLUSIVE)

As a movie reviewer who grew up in the golden era of Disney Channel animation, I can say that the return of “Phineas and Ferb” is like finding a long-lost childhood friend. The news of this revival has sent waves of nostalgia through my heart and I couldn’t be more excited to see what adventures Phineas, Ferb, and the gang have in store for us in their upcoming summer vacation.

There are 104 days left until summer vacation, as the anticipated comeback of “Phineas and Ferb” draws nearer. Co-creators and executive producers Dan Povenmire and Jeff “Swampy” Marsh will disclose additional details about the upcoming revival during a panel at New York Comic-Con this Thursday – including the identity of some original cast members who will reprise their roles.

Set to appear alongside Povenmire and Marsh on the Comic-Con stage are Vincent Martella (the actor behind Phineas Flynn) and David Errigo Jr. (who stepped into the role of Ferb Fletcher in 2020, replacing Thomas Brodie-Sangster), the characters who give the show its title. Additionally, Ashley Tisdale returns as Candace Flynn, Caroline Rhea reprises her role as Linda Flynn-Fletcher, Dee Bradley Baker voices Perry the Platypus, and Alyson Stoner takes on Isabella Garcia-Shapiro once more. Povenmire, of course, provides the voice for Dr. Heinz Doofenshmirtz, while Marsh continues as Major Francis Monogram. Disney has hinted at a star-studded guest cast featuring “notable actors, musicians, athletes, and others.

As a movie enthusiast, I’m thrilled to share that the creative minds behind “Phineas and Ferb” are gathering once more, this time at New York Comic-Con after quite a hiatus. They’re not just there for a casual meet and greet; they’ve got something exciting up their sleeves – sneak peeks into the upcoming season of our beloved series! Mark your calendars, folks, because “Phineas and Ferb” is set to make a grand return in 2025 on both Disney Channel and Disney+. I can hardly wait!

Disney has announced that the upcoming season of “Phineas and Ferb” will find the resourceful stepbrothers embarking on another 104 days of summer adventures. This time around, Candace is more determined than ever to catch her brothers, while their pet platypus, Perry, balances his life as a loving pet with his secret identity as Agent P, dedicated to foiling the plans of Dr. Doofenshmirtz who aims to conquer the Tri-State area. At the recent D23 event, creators Dan Povenmire and Jeff “Swampy” Marsh unveiled a video of Season 5’s song “Summer Is Starting Right Now,” and disclosed that the writing team consists of a blend of returning writers and fresh talent who are fans of the show, with actress Olivia Olson, who portrays Vanessa Doofenshmirtz in the series, among them.

The animated series “Phineas and Ferb” was revealed in January 2023 to be making a comeback with 40 new episodes. Originally airing from 2008 to 2015 on Disney Channel (later shifting to Disney XD), the show produced around 126 episodes, along with specials and movies like “Phineas and Ferb the Movie: Across the 2nd Dimension” (2011) and “Phineas and Ferb the Movie: Candace Against the Universe” (2020). The series concluded with a tribute to the movie “Groundhog Day,” as Candace managed to save the day after one of Dr. Doofenshmirtz’s inventions caused a loop in time. Throughout the original series, which covered one summer, Phineas, Ferb, and their friends constructed a rollercoaster, journeyed to space, experimented with time travel, uncovered Atlantis, opened a trendy restaurant in the Tri-State area, and even saved the world with assistance from Marvel superheroes.

The animated series ‘Phineas and Ferb’ has been awarded five Emmys and holds the record as Disney Television Animation’s most successful show among children aged 6-11 and tweens aged 9-14. This popular series expanded into a significant global franchise for Disney, encompassing live touring shows, junior novels, clothing lines, toys, video games, food products, health and beauty items. All four original seasons and the films can now be found streaming on Disney+.
