‘The Electric State’ Trailer: Millie Bobby Brown and Chris Pratt Go to War Against Robots in the Russo Brothers’ Netflix Movie

As a cinephile with a penchant for sci-fi and a soft spot for the Russo Brothers’ cinematic magic, I can hardly contain my excitement about the upcoming Netflix release of “The Electric State”. Having grown up during the ’90s myself, I can only imagine the nostalgic charm this alternative America setting will evoke.

Netflix has released the official trailer for the Russo Brothers’ “The Electric State,” starring Millie Bobby Brown and Chris Pratt.

In an alternate United States during the mid-1990s, “The Electric State” follows Brown’s character, Michelle, as she journeys cross-country to find her lost brother after a devastating war between mankind and our former robotic helpers has erupted. On her adventure, Michelle encounters Keats, a shady figure played by Pratt, who offers his assistance.

The main cast features Stanley Tucci playing Ethan Skate, Giancarlo Esposito portraying Colonel Marshall Bradbury, Woody Norman as Michelle’s lost sibling, and Ke Huy Quan as Dr. Amherst. In addition to this, Anthony Mackie, Billy Bob Thornton, Woody Harrelson, Jenny Slate, Jason Alexander, Alan Tudyk, and Brian Cox lend their voices for the characters in the science fiction film we’re discussing.

The movie was directed by Anthony and Joe Russo, who followed a screenplay penned by Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely. “The Electric State” is an adaptation of the graphic novel with the identical title, authored by Swedish artist Simon Stålenhag.

The Russos, renowned for helming Marvel hits “Avengers: Endgame” and “Avengers: Infinity War,” have been working on this project since 2017. They are producing it in collaboration with AGBO co-founder Mike Larocca, as well as Chris Castaldi and Patrick Newall. The executive production of “The Electric State” is being handled by Markus, McFeely, Angela Russo-Otstot, Jake Aust, Geoff Haley, and Jeff Ford.

“The Electric State” debuts on March 14, 2025. Watch the full trailer below.
