Environmentalist Assassination Doc ‘The Silence of the Earth’ to Be Shopped at Mipcom by Banijay Rights (EXCLUSIVE)

As someone who has always been passionate about environmental issues and social justice, I am deeply moved by the upcoming documentary “The Silence of the Earth.” This film, directed by Eulogio Romero, is not just a piece of cinema but a poignant tribute to three brave souls – Berta Cáceres, Paulo Paulino Guajajara, and Aldo Zamora – who fought valiantly against the dark forces of unchecked corporate greed and environmental destruction.

Banijay Rights, Diagonal TV (a Banijay Iberia label), and Crescendo Media Production have collaborated on a feature documentary titled “The Silence of the Earth.” This film explores the murders of three environmental activists and delves into the broader consequences that global climate devastation is inflicting upon our planet. In the coming weeks, Banijay will showcase this movie to potential buyers at Mipcom.

Eulogio Romero is responsible for creating a film that delves deeply into the stories of three courageous ecological activists: Berta Cáceres, Paulo Paulino Guajajara, and Aldo Zamora. Tragically, all three lost their lives while combating unrestrained corporate avarice and environmental devastation.

From the perspective of a film critic:

Cáceres was a passionate activist and Indigenous leader from Honduras who played a key role in establishing the Council of Popular and Indigenous Organizations of Honduras. She was recognized with the Goldman Environmental Prize in 2015. Tragically, she was murdered in her home by a gang linked to the U.S. military in 2016.

Paulino, often called “The Wolf,” was a Brazilian activist and part of the Guardians of the Forest, a team of Indigenous protectors combating unlawful logging activities. In 2019, they were attacked by a gang of loggers who ended up killing Paulino and injuring his cousin.

Aldo Zamora, the son of renowned Mexican activist Ildefonso Zamora, along with his brother Misael, inherited their father’s passion for environmental activism. They both became members of Greenpeace Mexico and frequently spoke out against illegal logging practices. Tragically, in 2007, Aldo lost his life in an ambush orchestrated by a gang of loggers.

“The Earth’s Silence Unveiled
