‘Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl’ Trailer: Aardman’s Iconic Duo Returns to Face Off With Evil Gnomes and the Pesky Penguin Feathers McGraw

As a lifelong fan of stop-motion animation and all things quirky, I must say that my heart skipped a beat when I saw the trailer for “Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl.” It’s been far too long since we last saw our feathered friend Feathers McGraw, and his return couldn’t be more timely.

Once again, Feathers McGraw graces our screens! Netflix has unveiled the initial teaser for “Wallace & Gromit: The Most Fowl Vengeance,” where the cunning penguin antagonist makes a triumphant comeback. This 70-minute production marks the first Wallace & Gromit feature film since 2005’s Academy Award-winning “Wallace & Gromit: Curse of the Were-Rabbit.” The return of Feathers McGraw has been eagerly anticipated by fans of Wallace & Gromit, as the ominous flightless bird was first introduced in Nick Park’s 1993 Oscar-winning short film “The Wrong Trousers.

In the voice-acting lineup for “Vengeance Most Fowl,” Ben Whitehead reprises his role as Wallace, the affectionate inventor, while Peter Kay once again takes on Chief Inspector (previously PC) Mackintosh. Joining the cast for the first time are Lauren Patel from “Everybody’s Talking About Jamie” and Reece Shearsmith known for “League of Gentleman.” Diane Morgan (“Afterlife”), Adjoa Andoh (“Bridgerton”), and Lenny Henry (“The Lord of the Rings”) make appearances in cameo roles.

In a conversation with EbMaster in July, the director and creator Nick Park revealed that he had long desired to incorporate mischievous gnomes into a “Wallace & Gromit” production. However, he struggled to devise a suitable narrative for this concept. That is, until now: “After three decades, it seemed like the perfect moment. Suddenly, an idea struck me: What if Feathers were connected to these gnomes? We’re aiming for this film to resonate with fans of ‘Gnome Noir’ worldwide, and we believe viewers will be delighted when they discover what Feathers has been up to since ‘The Wrong Trousers.’

As a cinephile thrilled about upcoming releases, I’m excited to share that the film “Vengeance Most Fowl” will have its world premiere at AFI Fest on October 27th. You can catch it on Netflix starting January 3, 2025!
