New Astro Bot Speedrun Levels Start Rolling Out Thursday

As a seasoned gamer with decades of platforming adventures under my belt, I can’t help but feel the thrill coursing through my veins as Team Asobi announces the launch dates for their new speedrunning bundle! With Astro Bot already earning critical acclaim and cementing itself as an essential PlayStation title, this free addition promises to deliver even more polished fun.

As a gamer, I’m excited to share that the awesome developers behind Astro Bot have revealed the launch dates for their new, free speedrunning levels! Starting October 17, you can jump into Building Speed where you’ll join forces with the speedy bulldog Barkster. Together, you’ll navigate a thrilling course filled with challenges such as cranes, crates, and even a moving car wash!

Each stage will feature two freshly designed bots to save, modeled after characters such as Eve from Stellar Blade and the Helldivers. Moreover, besides saving cute robots, these stages will come equipped with a competitive online leaderboard for speedrunners aiming to secure their boasts among peers.

Here’s the full schedule for when each stage will be available:

  • October 17: Building Speed
  • October 24: Let it Slide
  • October 31: Spring-loaded Run
  • November 7: Helium Heights
  • November 14: Rising Heat

On September 6th, I dived headfirst into the captivating world of Astro Bot. This game has been hailed by critics for its immaculate platforming experience that’s simply a joy to play. Mark Delaney from TopMob put it perfectly in his review, “Team Asobi has solidified itself as an indispensable part of the PlayStation family with a timelessly imaginative platformer.

The outlook for Astro seems promising, given that Sony’s CEO, Hermen Hulst, has expressed a desire to release more games suitable for families. In his words, “It’s crucial that PlayStation Studios expands into different game genres, and the family market is definitely an area we should prioritize.” He further emphasized that Astro holds significant value for PlayStation.

Fans of PlayStation won’t need to wait much longer for a fresh, family-friendly escapade set in the Horizon universe, as Lego Horizon Adventures infuses cuteness into the series and is scheduled to debut on PC, PS5, PS4, and Nintendo Switch on November 14.
