Oppenheimer's New 4K Limited-Edition Steelbook Is Only $30 And Exclusive To Walmart

As a seasoned gamer and collector of physical media with a keen eye for cinematic masterpieces, I’m thrilled to share my thoughts on the upcoming Oppenheimer 4K Steelbook Edition available at Walmart! With Christopher Nolan’s work being a staple in my collection, the opportunity to add another one of his grand epics to my steelbook shelf is nothing short of exhilarating.

The Christopher Nolan-directed 2024 Best Picture winner, “Oppenheimer,” has been accessible on 4K Blu-ray for nearly a year. If you didn’t grab the steelbook case from Best Buy last year, you have another chance to obtain a similar one at Walmart. A new Oppenheimer 4K Steelbook Edition is set to launch on November 19th, and preorders are currently available for $30. This price is lower than the now discontinued Best Buy steelbook ($38) and Walmart’s Icon Edition ($35, also no longer in production).

This version of Oppenheimer stands out with its attractive steelbook packaging, perfect if you’re looking to enhance your physical media collection visually. It offers the film in 4K Ultra HD quality, along with a regular Blu-ray disc, and a digital copy code as well.

The appealing aspect of this edition is primarily its cost, which stands at $30 – a reasonable figure considering some other steelbook editions can be quite pricey. Walmart assures that if the price drops before its release on November 19th, you’ll benefit from the lowest price available after your order. Given the tendency for steelbook editions to sell out quickly, if you’re interested, it might be wise to place your preorder promptly.

Walmart provides a variety of unique Steelbook editions for movies, including some highly anticipated future releases. The Limited-Edition Steelbook version of Christopher Nolan’s 2014 space epic “Interstellar” will be available on December 10, and you can preorder the three-disc set at $31. Additionally, “Dune: Part Two” Limited-Edition Steelbook is scheduled for release on November 19 at a price of $30. Notably, the initial steelbook version of “Dune: Part Two” sold out quickly when it was launched earlier this year. Lastly, if you prefer sci-fi with a touch of humor, you can preorder the Steelbook Edition of “Galaxy Quest,” which will be released on December 3.

Two highly anticipated 4K Blu-ray releases in steelbook cases, featuring Deadpool and Wolverine, aren’t exclusive to Walmart, but they should be on collectors’ radars. Unfortunately, both steelbook editions for these characters are currently out of stock on Amazon, with only the Deadpool-themed version available at Walmart. It is noteworthy that Walmart carries an exclusive standard Blu-ray edition of Deadpool & Wolverine, boasting pop-up art on its cover. On a different note, the Alien: Romulus Limited-Edition Steelbook will be released December 3 and can be purchased at the lowest price on Amazon.
