OTK co-founder speaks out against Asmongold’s ‘dehumanizing’ comments

As a follower and supporter of OTK, I find myself deeply moved by Tips Out’s recent statement regarding the ongoing conflict between Israel and Palestine. Being the son of a Syrian refugee who found solace in America, his words resonate profoundly with my own experiences and beliefs.

The co-founder and COO of One True King, known as ‘Tips Out’, has publicly criticized fellow co-founder Asmongold for his “inhumane” remarks regarding the Israel-Palestine dispute.

During a live Twitch broadcast on October 14th, I found myself passionately expressing my thoughts about the ongoing crisis. From my perspective, I must admit that I struggle to find empathy for those who lost their lives in this region, as they seem to be fundamentally different from what Western values represent – inferior and antithetical to our core beliefs.

In a widely-shared outburst, Asmongold expressed, “I have no compassion for them, I’m indifferent. I won’t back them.

I was part of the massive wave of responses to his remarks, joining countless other dedicated streamers on this platform in denouncing them as racially insensitive. Many of us called out for Twitch to take immediate action, and it seems they have – temporarily banning Asmongold for a fortnight.

Given the heated debate that’s erupted, there’s been an increasing call for Asmon’s streaming group, OTK, to respond too. So far, no action has been taken, but co-founder Tips Out has spoken up in the aftermath, labeling the comments as ‘dehumanizing’ and explaining why such a perspective can be so harmful.

OTK co-founder speaks out against Asmongold’s ‘dehumanizing’ comments

In 2020, On The Corner (OTK) was founded by a team of content producers, which included Asmongold and Tips Out among others. Currently, Tips Out holds the position of Chief Operating Officer (COO), tasked with facilitating OTK’s growth through collaborations with business associates and securing sponsorship agreements.

Joining the conversation, he shares an extensive perspective, expressing his private views. In his narrative, he discloses that his father was a Syrian refugee who fortunately escaped to the U.S. during challenging periods.

Considering his experiences growing up in America, he shared insights about how the September 11 attacks represented a significant transformation in people’s thinking and conversation, altering attitudes and actions towards various ethnicities and beliefs, including his own.

The significant change in their perspective wasn’t triggered by one specific incident or timeframe. Instead, it seems to have been a gradual process, stemming from decades of subliminal messaging in media, intended to create an “other”, which has allowed the powerful to exploit the anger and division among those without power.

Tips communicated a similar sentiment, echoing Asmongold’s recent remarks: “The words he chose, regardless of his intent, carried an unsettlingly familiar tone of dehumanization that has affected our ancestors, grandparents, and sadly, still impacts families in certain cases today.

He labeled it as a type of discourse, which has been employed for numerous generations to “rationalize senseless brutality, mass killings, and the disintegration of our global fraternity.

Currently, Asmon has not faced any repercussions under the OTK flags. However, TipsOut is committed to making sure our team and the organization thrive, aiming for OTK to reach its full potential.

TopMob has reached out to OTK for further comment on Asmon’s future with the company.
