Kelly Marie Tran, Benedict Wong and Jimmy O. Yang Set to Lead Vera Miao’s ‘Rock Springs’ From Gold House

As a movie buff with a keen eye for emerging talent and a soft spot for heartfelt narratives, I can’t help but feel a surge of excitement about “Rock Springs.” The combination of Kelly Marie Tran, Benedict Wong, Jimmy O. Yang, Aria Kim, and Fiona Fu in one film is already a recipe for an intriguing ensemble. Add to that the fresh directorial voice of Vera Miao, who has not only written but also produced and starred in her own projects – now that’s a promising blend!

Actors Kelly Marie Tran, Benedict Wong, and Jimmy O. Yang will appear in the upcoming movie titled “Rock Springs,” which is being helmed by writer-director Vera Miao.

In a nutshell, the movie’s tagline goes like this: “A young girl mourning the loss of her father, accompanied by her mother and grandmother, relocate to Rock Springs, Wyoming. However, they soon uncover a mysterious, monstrous entity in the town’s past and the forest behind their new home.

Stephen Feder and Kiri Hart, along with James Lopez, Poppy Hanks, and Greta Talia Fuentes from MACRO Film Studios, Matthew Lindner of Juniper Productions, and Jason Michael Berman and Jordan Moldo from Mandalay Pictures have all signed on to produce the upcoming film. This production will take place in Vancouver.

In addition to Aria Kim and Fiona Fu, the cast of “Rock Springs” features Miao, who is making her directorial debut with this film. Prior to this, she was a writer for the Prime Video limited series “Expats” and has spent over fifteen years acting. She has also produced, co-written, and starred in the apocalypse movie “Best Friends Forever.

Gold House will collaborate financially, act as executive producers, and offer cultural guidance on the project.

The Gold House Creative Equity Fund has been set up to expand upon the parent company’s current programs supporting rapidly emerging filmmakers. This is achieved by investing in independent films and media companies, with recent investments being made in Sean Wang’s “Dìdi” and Lloyd Lee Choi’s “Lucky Lu.
