As a cinephile with a particular fondness for daytime television, I must say that “The View” has been consistently delivering blockbuster performances lately. The Vice President Kamala Harris‘ latest appearance on the show was nothing short of an Oscar-worthy performance, drawing in over 3 million viewers – a feat not seen since February 2021!
As a movie critic, I must say that Kamala Harris truly stole the spotlight on “The View” last Tuesday, October 8. With her captivating presence as both Vice President and a Democratic presidential candidate, she attracted an impressive 3.143 million viewers – making it the show’s most-watched episode since February 15, 2021. Simply put, Harris turned “The View” into a must-watch event for many.
According to Nielsen figures given by ABC News, “The View” claimed victory in total viewers for the week of October 7, with an impressive viewership of 2.597 million. This is a significant increase of 12% compared to the same period last year, which saw only 2.316 million viewers. Furthermore, this marks the fifth consecutive week that “The View” has outperformed its 2023 ratings, and it’s the show’s most-watched week in over two and a half years, since March 28, 2022.
In a comparison of various daytime chat and news programs, “The View” outperformed the third hour of NBC’s “Today” (with 1.943 million viewers), “Today with Hoda & Jenna” (with 1.265 million) and “NBC News Daily” (also with 1.265 million), as well as CBS’ “The Talk” (with 1.184 million).
I’m excited to share that last week, our show, “The View,” saw an uptick in total viewers compared to the previous week. We climbed by 6%, reaching a impressive 2.597 million viewers! In addition, we experienced a 7% rise in the demographic of women aged 25-54, with 192,000 tuning in, and a significant 9% increase in women aged 18-49, attracting 138,000 viewers. It’s clear that our audience is growing!
Harris promoted ‘The View’ alongside appearances on various platforms, including ’60 Minutes’, ‘The Howard Stern Show’, ‘The Late Show with Stephen Colbert’, and the podcast ‘Call Her Daddy.’
On “The View,” Harris made her initial live interview and first talk show appearance as the Democratic presidential nominee. In this sit-down conversation, she was questioned by hosts Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Sara Haines, Sunny Hostin, Alyssa Farah Griffin, and Ana Navarro.
In a recent turn of events, I found myself graced with the esteemed presence of Vice President Kamala Harris during her eighth appearance on the iconic talk show, “The View.” Her last visit was back in January, making this occasion quite special. Interestingly enough, her appearance followed closely after President Joe Biden’s visit to the same stage on September 25th – a moment that held the title of the season’s most-watched episode up until then.
So far this season, “The View” has been leading in terms of total viewers with 2.486 million, marking its highest viewership figures since the 2020-2021 season.
