Dr Disrespect slams Kick after CEO says signing him would “harm” the platform

As a seasoned gamer with years of immersion in the streaming world, I find myself deeply entrenched in the ongoing saga of Dr Disrespect, a figure who has consistently defied expectations and thrived amidst controversy. His latest statement about refusing to stream on Kick, even if it meant retiring, speaks volumes about his unwavering loyalty to his community.

Streamer Dr Disrespect, who was banned from Twitch, expressed that he’d prefer to “step away” instead of moving to Kick, as the platform’s CEO deemed it unnecessary to invest in him.

Last June, ex-Twitch staff members disclosed details surrounding Dr Disrespect’s sudden ban from 2020, claiming that he had reportedly sent inappropriate communications to a minor.

The broadcaster confessed that the accusations were valid, yet later disclosed additional details about the incident, arguing that the messages were misinterpreted and that Twitch played a role in the enforced prohibition.

Currently, Doc, also known as Guy Beahm, continues to stream on YouTube and is waiting for a response regarding his appeal for monetization. It seems unlikely that he will switch platforms to Kick in the future.

I’d retire before considering streaming on Kick.

My community is the best in the industry… I wouldn’t take it there.

There’s a reason why they keep dropping my name. Think about it.

In a tweet dated October 15th, Doc expressed that he would rather retire than stream on Kick. He considers his community to be the finest in the industry and feels unfit to bring them there. The reason for their frequent mentions is not lost on him; it’s something worth pondering over.

On October 12th, Edward Kraven, CEO and co-founder of Kick, shared with Slasher that they currently have no intentions of extending a deal to Dr Disrespect.

In a monetary and professional standpoint, engaging in a deal with Dr Disrespect currently holds no merit in my view. It could potentially cause more damage to Kick than good, and at this moment, I believe it would be an unnecessary expense.

Before the controversy leading to his Twitch ban, Kick had prepared a generous $10 million per year contract for Beahm. Yet, he declined this offer, asking instead for a staggering $50 million.

As a gamer, I’ve got a pretty sweet setup here. If someone’s offering me fifty million, they better believe I’ll double down. Otherwise, I’m not budging. The community we’ve built is unmatched; we’re like a well-oiled machine. We’ve established ourselves and the numbers speak for themselves – they’re off the charts. Things are looking great, and I feel it too. Right now, I’m cruising in my Lamborghinis without any worries, taking things slow.

Dr Disrespect explained that he declined the offer because of his ongoing business commitments, particularly his gaming studio, Midnight Society. Since then, Beahm parted ways with the studio, and Midnight Society has consistently maintained that he will not be welcomed back.

Currently, Doc is patiently waiting for news about his monetization status from YouTube since he was banned from Twitch and consequently lost monetization on that site. However, it’s important to note that he remains the second most popular U.S. YouTube Gaming star, with IShowSpeed being the only one who is more watched.
