Priyanka Chopra Jonas’ Purple Pebble Pictures Adds Anne Carey as President of Film and TV (EXCLUSIVE)

As a seasoned movie buff with a soft spot for powerhouse women in Hollywood, I must say that the partnership between Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Anne Carey is nothing short of exhilarating! With their shared passion for unique storytelling and commitment to diversity, these two dynamos are set to create a wave that will surely resonate around the globe.

The production company, Purple Pebble Pictures run by Priyanka Chopra Jonas, has brought on Anne Carey, a seasoned producer, as its President for both films and television projects.

2020 saw EbMaster reveal that Purple Pebble Pictures, known for productions like the Academy Award-nominated films “The White Tiger” and “To Kill a Tiger,” signed an initial TV deal exclusively with Amazon MGM Studios. This agreement has since grown and evolved to encompass both film and television projects. The company aims to broaden its influence and creative output under Carey’s guidance, who boasts a robust portfolio as an independent film and TV producer, with a career marked by development-focused production work, frequent adaptations from literature, and collaboration with acclaimed directors.

Anne is a powerhouse in her field, recognized for her remarkable talent in crafting tales that not only enthrall but also resonate deeply with audiences,” stated Chopra Jonas. “Her commitment to storytelling and her steadfast advocacy for distinct and diverse perspectives align perfectly with our goals at Purple Pebble Pictures. We are optimistic that with Anne on board, we will keep breaking new ground and produce compelling, significant content that resonates globally.

Previously working as a partner and production president at Archer Gray, Carey has moved on to Purple Pebble Pictures. During her time at the independent media and venture business, she most recently produced Marielle Heller’s film “Nightbitch,” starring Amy Adams. This movie made its international debut at the Toronto International Film Festival and will be distributed by Fox Searchlight towards the end of this year.

Carey expressed great enthusiasm about collaborating with Priyanka and her team at Purple Pebble Pictures, where the main focus is on compelling storytelling. With our collective creativity and diverse experiences, we aim to produce stories that not only challenge perspectives but also amplify voices from various backgrounds and cultures on a global scale. Moreover, it seems like we’re going to enjoy this journey together.

At Archer Gray, Carey has recently worked on the Amazon drama series “Dead Ringers,” penned by Alice Birch and featuring Rachel Weisz. Additionally, she was involved in “The Persian Version,” written and helmed by Maryam Keshavarz, which was picked up by Sony Pictures Classics following its win of the U.S. dramatic audience award at the 2023 Sundance Film Festival. Her other credits include directing Liz Garbus’s “Lost Girls,” Heller’s “Can You Ever Forgive Me?,” Mike Mills’ “20th Century Women,” and both “The Diary of a Teenage Girl” and “Mr. Holmes” under Heller and Bill Condon respectively. Before joining Archer Gray, Carey’s producing credits include Tamara Jenkins’ “The Savages,” Greg Mottola’s “Adventureland,” and Anton Corbijn’s “The American.
