The idea of Master Chief gracing the battlefields of Warzone or Modern Warfare was tantalizingly close, only to be cruelly snatched away like a prized collectible at the eleventh hour.
Over the years, Call of Duty has partnered with a variety of entities, ranging from professional wrestlers to anime productions and more. It appears that, when it comes to Call of Duty and Warzone, almost anything is possible. However, occasionally, planned collaborations don’t end up materializing in-game.
As a gamer, I’ve heard through the grapevine that there might be a team-up between Halo and Call of Duty! A trusted source, @TheGhostOfHope, has dropped this info. It’s said that in the past, a Halo pack was planned for Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone, which would have let players don Master Chief as an Operator skin.
Through this partnership, you’ll find an array of Halo/Master Chief-themed cosmetics and goods, such as weapon designs, emotes, and other items. This collaboration aligns well considering Microsoft oversees both the Halo and Call of Duty development studios.
It’s unfortunate that the planned collaboration between Halo and Call of Duty, featuring Master Chief, didn’t materialize as it was reportedly cancelled before its launch. The reasons behind this cancellation remain a mystery. As TheGhostOfHope put it in a recent tweet, “It’s hard to believe that the Halo x COD Master Chief collab was nixed for Modern Warfare III with no clear explanation.
It’s quite surprising that the collaboration between Halo’s Master Chief and Call of Duty’s Master Chief, which was initially planned for Modern Warfare III, never materialized due to reasons that remain a mystery.

Could there possibly be a chance that this collaboration resurfaces in the future? Although it’s not guaranteed to be connected to the Modern Warfare 3 timeline, keep in mind that Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is scheduled for release on October 25, 2024, and it continues the Black Ops narrative, setting the storyline in the ’90s.
In simpler terms, since Black Ops 6 is set in a different era (presumably the ’90s), the skins from Modern Warfare 3 will not be transferable to the new game to maintain historical accuracy and avoid any inconsistencies in the game’s visual style.
