A quarter of a century is no small feat for any series, let alone one as epic as this pirate saga. But fear not, fellow fans! The creators are merely recharging their quills to bring us the “Egghead Arc” next year.

Toei Animation, responsible for the television program, announced that following the broadcast of Episode 1122 this coming Sunday, the series will temporarily halt production and resume again in April 2025, offering new episodes belonging to the “Egghead Arc.
In a written press release, no reason was given for the sudden pause, but during an online gathering, it was disclosed that the creators required time to “regain their energy.
For over two decades now, I’ve been an avid follower of the “One Piece” anime series, which made its debut on Japanese television back in 1999. This captivating production is brought to us by Toei Animation and airs on a weekly basis. The storyline is inspired by the globally acclaimed manga (comic book) series penned by Eiichiro Oda. Monkey D. Luffy, our fearless protagonist, along with his Straw Hat Pirates, embarks on an epic quest to discover the legendary treasure, The One Piece, and claim the title of Pirate King. With 25 captivating story arcs, 15 feature films, numerous video games, and a live-action adaptation courtesy of Netflix this year, “One Piece” continues to set sail on its journey, leaving no stone unturned in the realm of popular entertainment.
Instead of continuing with the original “Egghead Arc,” Toei Animation is releasing an updated version of one of the series’ initial storylines.
The “Fish-Man Island Arc” has been reimagined and given a fresh modern twist by Toei Animation, promising a contemporary visual style, new animation sequences, and even updated opening and ending themes. The new opening theme, “We Go!” by Hiroshi Kitadani, features an unannounced special collaboration. The ending theme, “Sailing” (TV version) by BE:FIRST, adds an exciting new dimension. This condensed retelling of the beloved storyline, titled “One Piece Log: Fish-Man Island Saga,” is designed to rekindle the excitement of One Piece fans globally.
The Straw Hat crew gathers again at Sabaody! The day they’ve long awaited has finally come. After being apart for two tough years, the Straw Hats have returned to Sabaody Archipelago – the location where they were defeated by Pacifista before. However, now they stand stronger than ever, ready to embark on their voyage to the New World. Now that the Thousand Sunny is capable of sailing underwater, their next destination will be Fish-Man Island.
On the 20th of October (this Sunday), an extraordinary 25th anniversary episode is about to grace our screens, celebrating One Piece’s lasting impact with a captivating 30-minute tale. As a devotee of cinema and all things One Piece, I can hardly contain my excitement! According to Toei Animation, this special episode takes us to the Sabaody Archipelago post the Summit War, narrated from the perspective of non-pirate characters. The story unfolds as we follow a young girl, an ardent fan of Nami, embarking on a modest adventure of her own.
In North America, you can stream the special episode and “Fish-Man Island” season on Crunchyroll, a streaming platform that’s a collaborative effort between Sony Pictures Entertainment from the United States and Aniplex, a Japanese subsidiary of Sony Music Entertainment (Japan) Inc.
