The technical glitch, though momentarily disruptive, was swiftly rectified and did not mar the magic of Nicks’ performance.
Attentive viewers of “Saturday Night Live” promptly noticed an anomaly prior to the second act by the night’s musical artist, Stevie Nicks. A flurry of online discussions ensued, and it was ultimately confirmed that there had been a technical glitch. Fortunately, it was swiftly rectified.
During what appeared to be a flawless segment of the 50th anniversary season (boasting Oasis tributes and an exceptional monologue by host Ariana Grande), an unexpected hiccup occurred just as Grande was about to introduce Nicks for her upcoming song. This incident led the show to display a billboard for Nicks for approximately 50 seconds while they handled the emergency, followed by a sudden commercial break.
Once everything was set, Grande re-emerged and resurrected the legend once more. Immediately following the iconic guitar riff from “Edge of Seventeen”, you can catch Nick adjusting her microphone pack on her right side, however, this didn’t hinder her impressive stage presence.
41 years back, Stevie Nicks had previously graced the “SNL” stage. In 1983, following her tour for the album “The Wild Heart”, she performed “Nightbird” and “Stand Back”. That night, the host was comedian Flip Wilson.

Lawless admitted that she didn’t understand the joke in the fajita sketch when she talked to The Ringer for their detailed oral history of the sketch. Being from another country and having limited experience with authentic Mexican or Tex-Mex food, she found it hard to grasp. In fact, Lawless even voiced her worries directly to the show’s creator, Lorne Michaels.
Lawless stated, “‘Hey Lorne,’ I pleaded, ‘listen, buddy, this isn’t funny. Could you just let it go? No hard feelings either way.’ But Lorne insisted, ‘No, no, no. I believe it has potential here. I truly think it could work out well and bring some good.’
