As a seasoned gamer with over two decades under my belt, I must say that I have witnessed many extraordinary events within the gaming community, but none quite like this one. The spectacle of a couple tying the knot at the Cult of the Lamb booth during PAX Australia is something that will undoubtedly go down in history books as an iconic moment.
At PAX Australia, an unusual pair exchanged vows during a wedding ceremony held at the Cult of the Lamb booth, both adorned in sheep costumes.
The event, orchestrated by the creators of the game, Massive Monster, took place within a full-scale representation of the Cult of the Lamb Temple, serving as the backdrop for the proceedings.
A large number of people assembled to see the couple make their promises, and those who were particularly close to them down below put on red garments to harmonize with the occasion’s motif. The memorable scene from the three-day gaming event in Melbourne has since become widely popular online.

“May their love be as eternal as the cult’s leader,” one said, as another added: “YASSSSSS THAT’S LEGENDARY.”
“One guest expressed their joy about attending the wedding, saying it was a stunning event they were honored to be a part of.
Yet, there was another wedding taking place before the lamb, which was not the sole occasion. The massive Monster extended congratulations to the newlywed couple through their Cult of the Lamb social media platform (Twitter or X) and announced that another ceremony would follow soon.
“Wow! Congratulations Jasper and Tanner on your nuptials! We are not done yet!! One more wedding to go at 3 pm,” they posted, alongside a close-up photo of the first ceremony.

On both occasions, I stood right in front. The two events were so touching that they made me shed tears.
In our initial assessment when it debuted last year (2022), we labeled Cult of the Lamb as “the most delightful form of mind control.” For those new to this indie game, it’s essentially about establishing and expanding a cult to amass power and wealth, eliminating any adversaries that cross your path.
Even though this game was launched two years back, it still maintains a dedicated fan base and experienced a resurgence in popularity following the release of the Unholy Alliance update on August 12, 2024, by its developers.
