Massive Pokemon leak reveals Switch 2 details, source code, Gen 10 & more

As a seasoned gamer with over two decades of Pokémon adventures under my belt, this recent leak has sent shockwaves through the community and stirred excitement within me like never before! Having grown up with the original games on Game Boy and later embracing the 3DS era, I can’t help but feel a deep sense of nostalgia mixed with anticipation for what’s to come.

Information from Pokemon developer Game Freak has been leaked, exposing source code for older games, unveiling files suggesting a new competitive multiplayer game similar to Splatoon, confirming Generation 10, and disclosing the codename for the upcoming Switch model, which is “Ounce.

For quite some time now, Game Freak has spearheaded the creation of games within the Pokemon series, and this franchise continues to dominate the gaming industry. Recently, due to a leak that revealed over a terabyte of files, as per reports, fans have gained insights into what lies ahead for the series.

Initially, we have the code name for the Switch 2, known as “Ounce”. It’s been suggested that the next Pokemon game from Generation 10, based on leaked documents, will be titled “Gaia”, and it appears to be under development for the upcoming gaming console.

Furthermore, it’s rumored that the source codes for Black 2 and White 2, along with Heart Gold and Soul Silver, have been illegally distributed. These files are claimed to be early versions or beta builds of these games.

Additionally, there were documents for a team-up project on a multiplayer game known as “Synapse,” which was developed in conjunction with ILCA, a studio known for creating spin-off games within the Pokémon franchise. Leaks suggest that this game is intended to be a standalone multiplayer experience set in the Pokémon universe, distinct from the Gen 10 main title.

Based on data analysts who have thoroughly examined the game’s files, it appears that this new competitive game allows players to incorporate Pokemon from all the way back to the original Generation 1 games available on virtual consoles, offering a gameplay style reminiscent of Splatoon.

It’s uncertain at this point whether the Gen 10 Pokemon game will only be available on the “Ounce” console or if it will also be playable on the original Nintendo Switch. While testing has been observed on the Switch Lite, this does not necessarily mean that the game will be released for that system.
