Kick co-founder addresses rumor they signed Hawk Tuah girl to $5M contract

As a seasoned gamer with over two decades under my belt, I can say with certainty that the gaming world is always buzzing with rumors and speculations. The latest about Kick and the Hawk Tuah girl has certainly caught my attention. While I’ve seen some impressive deals in my time, a $5 million contract for a newcomer seems a bit far-fetched, even for a popular streamer like Hailey.

Ed Craven, one of the founders at Kick, has spoken up about speculations that our platform secured a $5 million deal for the young artist known as Hawk Tuah.

Ed Craven clarified that there’s no truth to the widespread speculation about Kick entering into agreements with social media sensation, Hailey Welch, or outspoken comedian, Charleston White.

On October 11, Twitter user TheKickJoker posted an assertion stating that a streaming platform had proposed a $2 million contract to Charleston, who was detained in 2023 due to animal cruelty allegations and subsequently arrested on October 10 for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

“It appears they are forming alliances with individuals who have criminal records… I really hope there’s been a misunderstanding here.

Ed quickly dispelled this assertion, responding: “Kick hasn’t been offering new contracts for some time now, instead adopting the KCIP model. This system allows eligible candidates to apply, and in certain cases, larger audiences may even get expedited processing.

Kick has been focusing on the KCIP (Kick Crowdfunding Investment Platform) model recently, which allows qualified applicants to apply. In some cases, larger audiences might be given priority consideration.

He continued: “Anything else you’ve heard is mostly noise, clickbait, or third parties offering their own ‘deals’ independently. I mentioned this shift a while back, and it’s been a huge success.

In almost every key performance indicator, ‘Kick’ is showing improvement, yet what truly matters to us is cultivating a vibrant, powerful community of driven individuals and ensuring they are justly compensated.

Immediately following his response, another user asserted that Ed was planning to offer a five-million-dollar contract to the Hawk Tuah girl, stating that she would contribute “absolutely nothing” to the streaming service.

But the Kick co-founder quickly denied this, stating: “This is not true.”

This is not true.

Back on October 11th, I found myself buzzing with excitement when KickStreamsLive, a Twitter account boasting an impressive 128.5K followers, dropped a rumor that caught my attention – Hailey had supposedly signed a mind-blowing $5 million deal with a popular streaming platform. Now, there wasn’t any cited source, but the sheer number of people who jumped on this news made me wonder if it could be true!

After the social media sensation made her Kick debut on October 5, streaming her ‘Meet and Greet’ event at Dreamhack Atlanta live, this idea arises.
