Destiny 2 Exuviae God Roll Guide - Best Perks And How To Get

As a seasoned Destiny 2 player with countless hours under my belt and a soft spot for Stasis abilities, I must say that the latest addition, Exuviae, has truly caught my eye (and hand). This new Stasis hand cannon is not just another pretty face in my arsenal; it’s a versatile tool that shines in both PvP and PvE scenarios.

In Destiny 2’s Episode: Revenant, there’s a strong focus on Stasis abilities. This focus is reflected in the Artifact’s array of modifiable enhancements that significantly boost your capacity to freeze enemies. These boosts make Exuviae, the episode’s freshly introduced Stasis hand cannon, an excellent primary weapon for maximizing Stasis interactions. However, you might find Exuviae particularly useful in PvP scenarios, as it offers increased range and accuracy there.

How To Get Exuviae

In my gaming experience, when I advance through each act of an episode, a new type of weapon usually appears, and for Revenant Act 1, that would be the Exuviae. Unlike the guns from Echoes, these aren’t something I can craft; instead, they drop as rewards after completing the story quests. To get my preferred rolls, I’ll have to keep grinding for more versions of this weapon since it isn’t available for crafting.

Exuviae is a possible drop from Revenant’s Onslaught: Salvation activity. It can come out of reward chests you earn as you work through waves in the mode, but as in the original Onslaught activity, you can also “attune” your rewards to make Exuviae more likely to pop out of those chests. To do that, you need to unlock Tonic recipes in Eido’s Apothecary. Taking an Enriching Tonic that focuses on the Exuviae hand cannon will boost how often you get it as a reward from Onslaught for 20 minutes, but you’ll first need to get the right recipe. Check out our Tonics guide to see how to do that.

Exuviae God Rolls

Exuviae PvP God Roll

  • Barrel: Corkscrew Rifling
    • Stability +5, Handling +5, Range +5
  • Magazine: Accurized Rounds
    • Range +10
  • First Perk: Keep Away
    • Increases reload, range, and accuracy when no enemies are in close proximity.
  • Second Perk: Precision Instrument
    • Dealing sustained damage increases precision damage
  • Masterwork: Stability

In PvP, Exuviae excels due to its extended reach for dealing damage. Enhancing the range on your PvP weapons is usually beneficial, and it synergizes well with the Keep Away ability, giving you additional perks from maintaining a distance from opponents. The Precision Instrument mod also complements this setup by increasing the power of precise shots, provided you don’t miss. When combined, these traits allow you to engage other players from distances where they may be less effective, and if you’re accurate, you can take down Guardians swiftly.

Exuviae PvE God Roll

  • Barrel: Fluted Barrel
    • Stability +5, Handling +15
  • Magazine: Flared Magwell
    • Stability +5, Reload Speed +15
  • First Perk: Rimestealer
    • Destroying a Stasis crystal or defeating a frozen enemy with this weapon grants you Frost Armor.
  • Second Perk: Headstone
    • Precision final blows spawn a Stasis crystal at the target’s location.
  • Masterwork: Handling / Reload Speed

Exuviae offers a significant boost to Stasis synergy, but it heavily depends on making precise kills to generate as many Stasis crystals as possible. Pairing it with Headstone and Rimestealer creates quite a formidable duo: Using Exuviae to shatter a Stasis crystal or defeat a frozen adversary grants you Frost Armor, increasing your survivability. Given the current power level of Stasis crystals, this weapon excels when combined with a Stasis-focused build and provides protection. To facilitate those precision shots, enhance its stability stat, and whenever possible, boost its handling speed for quick transitions to secondary weapons like grenade launchers.
