Best Archetypes for every quest and bounty in Metaphor: ReFantazio

As a seasoned adventurer who’s battled my fair share of beasts and bosses across the vast realm of Eloria, I can confidently say that the teams I’ve outlined will lead you to victory in your quests.

In every metaphorical sense, Refantazio can manage tasks, but for outstanding performance in each challenge or location, assemble a suitable team tailored to conquer the dungeons or specific areas. Remember, mastery lies in discovering and leveraging an opponent’s vulnerabilities!

Instead of focusing on Personas and Demons, consider aligning with your Follower’s Archetypes, each possessing unique skill sets. You can also blend and combine their skills and passive abilities to form an unstoppable force.

In this manual, I will explain the most effective character pairings (Archetype combos) that will make it easier for you to conquer each mission and bounty in the game.

Best Archetypes for the Catacombs: Necromancer Takedown

Best Archetypes for every quest and bounty in Metaphor: ReFantazio

The beast Archetype team against the enemies in the Cathedral is a Mage, a Healer, and a Knight.

In the Catacombs, you’ll find creatures akin to the Walking Dead, vulnerable to Light. A Healer armed with Hama is ideal for combating them, as they can heal team members when damage is taken. Additionally, a Mage skilled in wind magic like Cyc can handle the Lifewrought Gargoz found on higher levels, who are weak against such spells. Lastly, the Knight’s Knight’s Proclamation ability will protect your more vulnerable characters from taking damage.

Best Archetypes for Belega Corridor: A Bullish Embargo

Best Archetypes for every quest and bounty in Metaphor: ReFantazio

The optimal Archetype team for confronting foes in Belega Corridor and Guptauros consists of two Knights and a Seeker. If you’ve already obtained the Magic Seeker and Knight, you’re all set!

To complete this quest, focus on improving your noble qualities. The Guptaurus dislikes staffs, so it’s best not to rely on Healers or Mages for this battle, despite their usefulness. Instead, consider using characters like the Knight or Magic Knight since they excel in dealing Piercing damage, which is effective against these enemies. Additionally, have your Seeker learn Blizz from your Mage to add some additional magic power to your attacks.

Best Archetypes for Maneater Manjula Bounty

Best Archetypes for every quest and bounty in Metaphor: ReFantazio

As an avid gamer, I can’t stress enough the importance of having the right team composition to conquer the Lord of Tradia Desert. A Mage with Blizzard unlocked, a Knight, and a Warrior are my go-to choices. However, if you’ve managed to unlock the Magic Seeker and Magic Knight, I highly recommend utilizing them instead for an even more formidable team!

In other words, since Manjula the Maneater is vulnerable to ice abilities, employing an ice attack like “Blizz” can aid in swiftly defeating her. Remember to grab some “Robust Remedy” from the General Store to counteract any poison it may inflict on you.

Best Archetypes for King of the Imps Bounty

Best Archetypes for every quest and bounty in Metaphor: ReFantazio

The best Archetype team to beat the King of the Imps is a Gunner/Warrior, Seeker, and Knight.

Instead of focusing on any potential flaws, it’s advisable to include Archetypes capable of inflicting widespread damage to eliminate all foes simultaneously. Be cautious when fighting the Goborn King, as he may become enraged if defeated last or with a staff. To ensure victory, prioritize dealing physical damage. Additionally, don’t forget to pack some consumables that induce Sleep.

Best Archetypes for the Abandoned Tomb: A Dagger, a Ring, and a Rake

Best Archetypes for every quest and bounty in Metaphor: ReFantazio

The optimal Archetypes for obtaining a Dagger, a Ring, and a Rake are Cleric, Merchant, Knight, and Gunner. Remember to acquire the “Steal” ability to pilfer valuable items from the chests of your foes.

hidden among the ruins of the Deserted Mausoleum lie foes camouflaged as gleaming treasure chests. To vanquish these cunning adversaries, you can make use of the Merchant’s Golden Strike – an ability that requires 500 Reeve to unleash. Moreover, these enemies are particularly vulnerable to Piercing attacks, so having a Knight or Gunner in your party could prove advantageous.

As you engage in the showdown against Kadablich, the Cleric’s Hamaon abilities will prove useful since Kadablich is vulnerable to Light attacks.

Best Archetypes for Sandworm Belly and Nest: The Old Castle Town Kidnapper

Best Archetypes for every quest and bounty in Metaphor: ReFantazio

The Best Archetypes to bring to hunt down the kidnapper are Mage, Gunner, Thief, and Magic Knight.

In this setting, the adversaries are particularly vulnerable to Electric spells and Piercing assaults. Armed with these three types of attacks, you’ll be well-prepared to overcome any foe you encounter within both Sandworm Belly and Nest.

Best Archetypes for Alpha Rockworm Valmo Bounty (Man-Eater’s Grotto)

Best Archetypes for every quest and bounty in Metaphor: ReFantazio

For optimal success when facing off against the Alpha Rockworm Valmo, a team of three ideal characters would be: Sorcerer (Wizard), Magical Warrior Knight (Mage Knight), and Marksman (Gunner). Ensure that each member possesses at least one ability related to ice for maximum effectiveness.

In the battle against Alpha Rockworm Valmo and its smaller versions, they are vulnerable to Ice attacks, so Blizz and Gablizz are essential for defeating them. During the fight, it’s crucial to summon Gablizz to inflict damage on both enemies simultaneously. If the enemies don’t fall together, they will reappear. Ice shards can be useful in this situation too!

Best Archetypes for Kriegante Castle: Apprehend the Real Kidnapper

Best Archetypes for every quest and bounty in Metaphor: ReFantazio

The best Archetype team to bring to Kriegante Castle is Magic Knight, Cleric, Gunner, and Faker.

In the castle’s sewer system, many of the foes are vulnerable to Piercing attacks. This makes both Magic Knight and Gunner ideal for this task. Cleric is also essential as they can maintain the team’s health while dealing damage. The final boss at the end doesn’t have any specific weaknesses but can be affected by negative status ailments. So, stock up on consumables from either the General Store or Gloomhall to inflict these effects.

Best Archetypes for Gracia Forest

Best Archetypes for every quest and bounty in Metaphor: ReFantazio

The best Archetypes to bring against the Kokasados are the Faker or Commander, the Sniper, the Magic Knight, and the Assassin.

Fighting Kokasados might seem straightforward, but beware – this bird has a powerful attack that can quickly decimate your team in one go. To ensure victory, consider bringing a Faker or Commander to weaken Kokasados or strengthen your group – ideally, both. Given that Kokasados is vulnerable to Pierce damage, having a Sniper and a Magic Knight in your party becomes essential.

Best Archetype for Superior Scrimshaw: Orgas

Best Archetypes for every quest and bounty in Metaphor: ReFantazio

The best Archetype team against Orgas is Assassin, Faker, Sniper, and Magical Knight.

In this fight, the Assassin is crucial due to his ability to wield Mudo or Mamudo skills in his inheritance slot, as Orgas is particularly vulnerable to Dark magic. The Faker also proves instrumental in incapacitating Orgas and bolstering your team. The remaining Archetypes can be flexible, but I’ve found success with the Sniper and Magical Knight, mainly because they are strong enough.

Best Archetype for Tomb of Lament: Grieving the Ghost of the Goblet Bounty

Best Archetypes for every quest and bounty in Metaphor: ReFantazio

The best Archetype team to beat the Fatolich is Cleric, Wizard, Magic Knight, and Sniper.

In this scenario, the Fatolich possesses potent Dark magic, making it crucial to have a protective barrier in place. Thus, we suggest the presence of a Magic Knight to deflect non-Light spells. Given that the Fatolich is resistant to Light magic, it might be beneficial to bring along a Cleric who specializes in such magic. As for the Chimera, it requires powerful physical attacks and wind magic, capabilities that both the Magic Knight and Wizard possess.

As I progress further in the game, I plan on revising this guide. Meanwhile, it would be beneficial for you to enhance your Magic Points bar, as you’ll encounter more magic-focused character types in the mid to late stages of the game.
